Actress Teri Garr has passed away at age 79. I always enjoyed her, usually, comedic roles. She endured a purgatory of a valiant fight against multiple sclerosis for twenty years. She spoke of how her belief in God sustained her. May she now be practicing new roles in the Kingdom where there is no pain and no disease.
She is being added to our remembrance book for November Masses.
Her role in Young Frankenstein comes to mind.
I’m glad she had the faith. Rest in peace indeed.
Rest in peace!
She was charming on screen. Young Frankenstein was a great vehicle for several comedic actors, Terri Garr not least among them.
Agreed with all. Her portrayal of Richard Dreyfuss’ wife in Close Encounters of the Third Kind was another favorite of mine. RIP.
I agree with the others posting comments. Teri Garr was not only very funny, but she was self-deprecating. Her comedic performances gave me and an awful lot of others laughter and pleasure – which is no small thing in these grim days. Rest in the arms of Jesus, Teri!
