The late historian Robert Conquest formulated three laws of politics:
- Everyone is conservative about what he knows best.
- Any organization not explicitly right-wing sooner or later becomes left-wing.
- The simplest way to explain the behavior of any bureaucratic organization is to assume that it is controlled by a cabal of its enemies.
All the stories about this stupid mascot are a reminder of the fact that all these “appeals to the youth” are done by a bunch of old childless men, many of whom may have homosexual tendencies.
*done by a bunch of old childless men, many of whom may have homosexual tendencies.*
This rings true. Creepy.
His 2nd Law seems a bit doubtful, mostly because “right wing” and “left wing” seem to have no fixed meanings, but also because one dimension is not enough to describe the complexities of politics.
When I look at it I see a way for the Vatican to make money off people/youth.
Did we ever get an answer on Pharma stocks and the Vatican?
What motivates them – 💰 – and they lost a lot lately
To Outis’ point, here is a link to a brief article describing the Jerry Pournelle Political Axes chart which gives more depth than simple labels like left and right.
