Abolish it root and branch, then start over. There is no reforming the rot in that corrupt organization. While we’re at it, the injustice department needs the same treatment. It oversees the FBI, and even under Bill Barr it was bad. Now, it prosecutes pro-life Americans and falsely claims they are violent, while failing to prosecute actual violence against pro-life people and organizations.

Defund the crooks. The individual villains to be deprived of any salary or benefits or possibility of re-employment anywhere under our federal system of governance.
Why – sometimes people are “walked out” of the building only to resurface unscarred and un inhibited.

As a retired federal employee, I am outraged. One million dollars!? The most I ever got was a bottle of bourbon at Christmas.

Scrape all the barnacles off the federal penal code and recalibrate the sentencing rules.
End absolute immunity for judges and prosecutors.
Break up the FBI, parceling out its functions to an array of more specialized agencies.
Before you do, shut down the most crooked offices, fire their employees, and fire the HQ management.
Do the same with the U.S. Attorney’s offices. Make it the law that no one can work as an attorney in those offices for more than 12 years out of 14 and that no one can hold the position of U.S. Attorney for more than 4 years in any bloc of 8.
Redraw federal trial jurisdictions. About 50 jurisdictions in the continental United States, with counties assembled according to their distance from the peak land value intersection of a given metropolitan statistical area. Each jurisdiction would have a minimum share of the country’s personal income flow (say, just shy of 1%) and be assigned judicial manpower according to a decennial assessment of the jurisdiction’s caseload. Off shore territories would be served by satellite offices (bar Puerto Rico which would have it’s own sui generis courts). The greater Washington jurisdiction would contain about a half dozen counties in Maryland, 20-odd counties and stand-alone munis in Virginia, and bits and pieces of West Virginia and Pa. No more DC juries.
