Rest in Peace dear soul.
RIP; my memory of Angela Lansbury will always be her singing “Little Yellow Bird” (in “The Picture of Dorian Grey”):
Little bird with a yellow bill—Ah, the crude things one picks up in military service!
My memory is newer- the voice of Mrs Potts in the animation Beauty and the Beast. My children reminded me. RIP beautiful lady.
Bedknobs and Broomsticks!
I almost forgot about “Little Yellow Bird”. We watched “Dorian Gray” and the “The Robe” on our Senior retreat in 1975. We annoyed the good Jesuits (and we had some good ones then) by singing it on the bus on the way home.
Aha! So that’s where that song is from! I only know it as the song sung by JB Fletcher’s McGill cousin on. “Murder She Wrote”. Now I get the in-joke!
