The Tyrants Strike Back

The powers that be in Ottawa have declared a state of emergency and are trying to freeze the truckers out by confiscating their diesel.  We shall see how well that works out.  Of course the entire globe, almost, has been under a state of emergency for almost two years as governments run rough shod over the rights of their citizens.  The opponents of The Freedom Convoy want this to go on indefinitely.  It will not.  This madness will either end peacefully or violently.  The Freedom Convoy, and the support it has engendered around the globe, should be a warning to the Covid dictators to bring the Covid restrictions to an end peacefully.  I fear if they do not, it will be the fire next time.

So many ruling elites around the world had comfortably believed for a long time that deplorables were their obedient slaves and beneath their notice. Now they are forced to take notice that people have a will of their own, so they are afraid and react doing what they do best: doubling down on tyranny.

There’s roving lawyers doing pro-bono work for the truckers who are just walking around and if they see the cops stop someone with a gas can, they walk up and start talking.

The cops then back down. Including entire flocks of folks walking in with gas cans because they’re with a lawyer.

The elites want a harmless, managed “democracy” which leaves them and theirs at the top of the heap forever. Justin Trudeau is a weakling, and weakings do stupid things.

I expect him to lose his head and go all War Measures Act like his blinkered father.

Please stream this movie “Missionary of Truth:” about the breaking of the communists in Poland muchly by a martyred priest who merely refused to stop speaking the truth and praying. Its similarity to the same evil today is shocking.

Argue for REAL freedom, get silenced hard; rage for lefty lunacy, get dispensation and praise. Fairly clear. Govern me harder, please. I can feel the omnipresent and omnipotent governmentalist love. The enforcement arm of the Ministry of Love.

There’s only two ways that this ends at this point:

1.) The government negotiates with the truckers.
2.) The government starts shooting.

Modern government, and especially the Canadian government, has operated on the tacit acceptance of its edicts (even the unlawful ones) by the populace. Thus they are used to people backing down before the government has to use its monopoly on force.

You can see in the response to the truckers that the government expected the same thing to happen. First slander them in the media and make vague threats, hoping that they stop the protest. The truckers remain. Then try to put up minor obstacles and hope they give up. The truckers remain, or simply move their protest slightly. Now they are trying to interfere with the supply lines, but since most of their actions are not legal (in my understanding) this falls apart if the people are willing to say that. They are desperately trying to find a way to force the truckers to back down under the threat that the government might use force, but without actually using force.

The truckers have remained strong and given them a simple choice: either admit that the truckers are the citizens that give you power in a democracy and negotiate with them, or use force to shut them down and thus throw away any legitimacy your government has. There is no third option.

A much different order of protest, on so many levels, but I am reminded of Chicago, 1968: “The Whole World is Watching!”

If not in an absolute dictatorship—or if not willing to slaughter vast numbers of people as Gen. Patrice MacMahon did to defeat the Paris Commune Revolt of 1871–then the government playing cat-and-mouse with protesters, like trying to seize their diesel, is going to fail embarrassingly. The protestors will show themselves much more inventive.

It’s a matter of time now.

BTW, oh, ye geniuses of the Ottowa City Council, if you were to actually arrest all of the truckers, who’s going to deliver you your fresh veggies from down here?

Leftists believe that the working class consists of identical individuals who can easily be swapped out with one another. This is a natural consequence of the Marxist division of society into abstract proletariat and capitalist classes. Once you no longer see the poor as individuals they become a faceless mass where one is just as good as another.

So leftists see no real problem in firing swaths of people due to opposition to woke mandates. There’s more to replace them and maybe they’ll even work for less wages.

(You might notice that this view of society is exactly the one that the corrupt corporate executives that unions fought against hold. The endgame of leftist opposition is never reform, but always taking the place of the oppressors.)

Great point, RH…reminds me of the final lyric line in the Who’s great song “Won’t Get Fooled Again”: “Meet the New Boss. Same as the Old Boss.” Only the bank accounts change.
