PopeWatch: Green Church Heresy

The current gang at the Vatican are attempting to build a new church that has very little in common  with the old Church:

We can’t help but feel dumbfounded after reading the 26-page “Pastoral Orientations on Climate Displaced People.” The Vatican document is replete with scientific and economic gibberish while sprinkled with warm Christian feelings and commitments to turn parish churches into WWF branch operations. It was presented yesterday at the Vatican with great pomp and circumstance and launched with a message from Pope Francis, so as to reinforce the importance the Holy See gives to ecological conversion, which – together with the theme of climate displacement – is the battle horse it mounts when defending migrants.

We are shocked to see how the Church leadership is now totally subservient to an ideology that is anti-human at its very core. It is shocking to see Pope Francis making a parody out of a passage from the Book of Isaiah, announcing imminent catastrophes for those who do not convert to ecologism. We are shocked to see a document, which would seem to be authoritative, that is full of clichés and bizarre theories like those concocted during bar conversations.

A point- by-point rebuttal of what is written in these pastoral guidelines about climate change and its effects on populations would require more than one article. But these are topics that we have already dealt with several times in the Daily Compass (see here). In any case, those who wish to inform themselves, you may compare the Vatican document with the recent  Catholic Social Doctrine Report published by the Cardinal Van Thuan Observatory on the theme of “Environmentalism and Globalism: New Political Ideologies” and to which we at the Daily Compass made valuable contributions.

Here, however, I will limit myself to a few general considerations. The first concerns the secularisation process that now appears to be complete even inside the Church, or at least in terms of the documents her leaders issue. The language of this particular document – which is intended to influence every last parish – on climate issues and displaced persons is entirely borrowed from ecological movements and UN bodies. The only conversions mentioned are more ecological lifestyles and transitioning energy consumption to that of renewable resources. The only mention of an eternal perspective – to be passed on to young people – is quite revealing. It has to do with “the kind of environmental conditions people will leave for their children and grandchildren”. In other words, even eternity is reduced to an entirely earthly dimension. Any other comment is superfluous.

Go here to read the rest.  The only legitimate authority the Vatican has is to hold, teach and defend the Gospel of Christ.  This rubbish has bupkis to do with that.  We are seeing at work here the familiar tactics of the Left as described by Iowahawk:

1. Identify a respected institution. 2. kill it. 3. gut it. 4. wear its carcass as a skin suit, while demanding respect.

This is what happens when you can’t share the good news about human sexuality and marriage…..

Who still is shocked by anything this heretic spews? Please read paragraph 161 of Evangelii Gaudium where he invert’s Christ’s own words regarding the greatest Commandment and elevates man in the place of God. I don’t need to know a single other thing about him. That is enough, at least according to Galatians 1:8.

Maybe the Vatican folks are secretly concerned that the climate monsters will harm their Pachamama dolls?
Will we see a pronouncement soon that there is found an eleventh commandment? “Thou shalt not anger the climate monsters.”

I have often said this before and will repeat it again. IF the eco-wacko enviro-nazis truly believe in the fiction of anthropogenic global warming (or as it is now called, climate change) really believed in their own fabrications and distortions of science, THEN why did Italy (where the Vatican is located) shutdown its carbon-free nuclear power plants in the 1980s? AND why in liberal progressive feminist states in the USA are so many carbon-free nuclear power plants being shutdown in favor of carbon-polluting natural gas? Braidwood and Dresden in Illinois, Indian Point 2 and 3 in NYS, Pilgrim in Taxachusetts, VY in Vermont, SONGS 2 and 3 in Californication (soon to be followed by Diablo Canyon 1 and 2), etc.

Nuclear has the LOWEST mortality rate per terawatt hour of ANY form of energy generation (including useless and worthless solar & wind). The figures at the web link below (I have posted this link at TAC before) factor in disasters like SL-1, Windscale, Chalk River, TMI, Chernobyl and Fukushima (all of which – even Chernobyl – killed an underwhelming minority of people, orders of magnitude LESS than what natural gas and oil refinery explosions have killed in the same time period):

https://www.nextbigfuture.com/2016/06/update-of-death-per-terawatt-hour-by.html

IF Pope Francis AND the rest of the bureaucracy of the institutional Church REALLY believe in this climate change hogwash, AND IF they really cared on iota about human life, THEN they would support, advocate and push for nuclear energy tooth and nail BECAUSE nuclear is demonstrably the SAFEST and CLEANEST form of energy.

Why do I say that? Because the United States Navy trusted me at the controls of a live nuclear reactor in a sealed metal tube at 700 feet beneath the surface when I was a crazy 19 year old, and we all lived to tell the tale.

Pope Francis and his henchmen are freaking idiots. But we all know that.

BTW, I got nothing against gas, oil & coal. Not having electricity kills, but using coal kills less. Coal kills, but using oil kills less. Oil kills, but using gas kills less. Gas kills, but using renewables kills less. Renewables kill, but using nuclear kills less. Nuclear kills, but whatever you do, you ain’t getting off the planet alive (you’re not Enoch, Elijah or the Blessed Virgin Mary). So……..let’s level the regulatory playing field. No govt money for anyone, and equal govt regs. You don’t get to dump your pollution into the environment. And you gotta generate electricity 24 / 7 / 365 for a reliable electric grid. Guess who wins? NUCLEAR! But let the FREE MARKET work. Stop trying to jimmy it as the Vatican advocates.

Ok, done venting my spleen.
