God bless her. Donald McClarey you beat me to it. Her story is in World War II in HD by Gary Sinise, as very worthwhile watch.
I’m sure the lady was very brave and this single anecdote is not her life story.
BUT I think a man deserves to be told. How else can he make a final peace, a final plea, a final repentance, a final prayer?
As I said, I’m sure dishonesty was not the central theme of this nurse’s life, but it does seem to have become the central theme of modern medicine. Keeping patients and families in the dark seems now to be standard operating procedure.

Since he died almost immediately it would have made absolutely no difference in his case. If he had lived longer I assume he would have figured it out on his own, as he probably had in this case.
