Why are these old decrepit men protecting sex abusers?
Seems to my cynical eyes that the so-called legacy media treat Francis the same way they treat any other leftist political figure. Nothing unfavorable may be said about fellow members of the neo-Marxist Blob until their actions begin to damage the Blob. The absence of any apparent outrage from the Catholic faithful, which might do some good if it existed on a broad scale, is more concerning, but likely caused for the most part by the same media obfuscations. Most Catholics have never heard of Rupnik or the other evil men Francis has sponsored and protected over the years, even before his installation as Pope.
MUST?!!?
I don’t think that word means what he thinks it means …
“If wishes were horses we all would ride.”
They won’t even let protesters of Bishop Strickland’s treatment in, how would we do this?
I thought for sure keeping Rupnik going on social media would help but then it seems they placated the journos and progressive women religious w being able to talk about women being priest- forever
Yes, this man who has the power of a pope should resign but his evil agenda is not complete.
“Why are these old, decrepit men protecting sex abusers?” LQC, the protecters are probably sex abusers themselves, and fear that they too might be exposed.
What Welby failed to do was to inform law enforcement when he received information in 2013 that Smyth had committed crimes > 30 years earlier. (There’s also claim Welby must have been aware of Smyth’s offenses in real time because the two were employed at the same retreat for a period of weeks ca. 1982, but they don’t explain why the rest of us should think that).
Stephen:
Francis created enough ill-will in Argentina that anything he did there personally would long ago have been uncovered. I think he finds some of these “protected” people useful.
Maybe Trump should appoint Bishop Strickland our ambassador to the Vatican? (Know it won’t happen. Just enjoying the thought.)
