One very good reason for clerics to stay off of social media is how many come across as utterly clueless. Here we have the Archbishop of San Antonio mindlessly repeating the gun control mantras of the Left and obviously either ignorant of basic facts or completely indifferent to them. This raises the suspicion that in matters of faith he may be equally ignorant or mendacious.

It’s ok to debate but he’s obtuse to the rational intent of the second amendment and rifle ownership. Which is to prevent the absolute worse kind of mass murder.
You’re right: What else is he obtuse and irrational on? Plus uncatechized people will think the Catholic Faith is irrational.
Yes. Like the USCCB being behind “climate change” and net zero.
But the USCCB does have a lobbying arm.
“U.S. bishops condemn ‘Secure the Border Act of 2023’”
I guess we can’t get on social media and complain to them. I think they just have someone post for them.
““U.S. bishops condemn ‘Secure the Border Act of 2023’””
Then let them all who want a borderless country give the illegal invaders their house, their benefits, their money. This includes the bishops.
The Secure the Border Act of 2023 is self-defense.
If all goes well, by this time next year, I should have left the Diocese of San Diego for the Diocese of San Antonio. The sad thing is, this will actually be an improvement.

Illegal Immigration must be continuous otherwise it threatens the number of persons sitting in the pews (2nd gen leave), USCCB income and without illegal immigration USCCB might have to look inwardly as to what they’re doing wrong….
