In all my life I’ve never seen a more self-righteously judgmental, intolerant or close-minded movement than the modern left.
The beating continues unless (whatever propaganda the left is pushing) is accepted! Any questioning or denial is heresy!
I don’t belong to the woke religious cult.
But I will say that during Covid they had the propaganda our military uses on enemies on us so, I can see why some are screwed beyond help.
“Decent people are leaving…”
I notice that this gentleman has apparently not yet left. I have to say it’s an inspiring sacrifice, akin to how politicians, celebrities and some prelates take lots of propitiatory airplane trips to save us from the angry sun god.
One more reason to get my butt back on Twitter.
In news concerning Annett’s ‘decent’ people’s war on our children.
In 2021, one-third of US teenage girls seriously contemplated suicide in 2021. For this we thank ‘decent’ people.
I suspect one reason for a decline in the number of Twitter accounts is that Elon Musk has made it a priority to remove fakes and ‘bot’ accounts. Evidently there were far, far more of those than Twitter was willing to admit prior to the sale.
I certainly don’t think the drop in the number of accounts is because users on the left have suddenly picked up a new habit of actually walking their own talk…
“Evidently there were far, far more of those than Twitter was willing to admit prior to the sale.”
Take this as the double hearsay that it is, but it’s still interesting: A former colleague of mine from my corporate law days, an IT systems designer, says “the word on the street” in his line of work is that at least 40% of all Twitter accounts were bots prior to Musk coming to town. He believes it was closer to 60%. Again, for what it’s worth.
I could very easily believe that Frank.
I notice his catalogue of the indecent includes half the American electorate, Jordan Peterson, Steve McIntyre, and anyone who noticed that the vaccines are about as effective as flu shots and of scant use to anyone under 45. Maybe there’s a reason the IMF management got tired of listening to him on policy questions and shunted him off to a PR job.
Who exactly is this Tony Annett? Seems like a guy who actally likes the Charmin comnercials with the cartoon bears.
He is, or was, an economist originally from Ireland and living in the Us. He used to comment here and elsewhere as Morning’s Minion. He is usually, but not always, a Leftist.
Walking talking proof one can have a PhD and still be an idiot [Richard Feymsn}.
He worked for the IMF. The IMF HQ is in Paris if I’m not mistaken, but I think he worked in New York. I think he left the employ of the IMF a number of years ago and now has a term position at Columbia University. His dissertation looks like something you’d submit to a committee of political scientists who use quantitative methods in their research rather than to a committee of economists.
There is at Patheos a blog called Vox Nova which is the descendant of Tony Annett’s blog. It used to have a much larger corps of people, most of whom seemed to be graduate students or quondam graduate students. None of the original crew contribute to it anymore.
Personal observations. With few exceptions, academic economists practice applied ideology and employ subverted statistics.
And they are allergic to hard data unless it ‘proves’ the myths and superstitions.
I’ve been permanently banned from three of their site. I regard it as a badge of honor.
