VATICAN—Pope Francis has said in interviews, now, that he can no longer walk.
The pope was clearly in pain during Holy Week, last month, but demonstrably worse yesterday at the Wednesday audience.

Supposedly due to a torn ligament. Have to give him credit for attempting to carry out his duties.
Yes, he knows his work is not done. However, the truth is that he was never going to succeed. And yet, there remains Benedict. More than a few faithful Catholics won’t be surprised when Francis goes first.
Can’t he just get a “substitute” like teachers do? I’m certain there’s a large group of bishops and cardinals that would like the job and with their reputations, hardly a soul would notice the pope was missing.
