“Self-hating left wing”?

While acting as an unpaid commissar smacks of farce, it will never be funny enough to qualify as such.

When a leftist brags about the amount spent by Democrats to “help” always ask “why didn’t they spend more? Don’t they care?” For example “They only spent 2 trillion? Why not 20 trillion?”

The leftist will rant and rave about the Republican obstructionists who prevented this from happening. They will not say “20 trillion is an absurd sum.” You can probably even get away with asking why the Democrats didn’t pass 200 trillion dollars with of funding. The numbers are meaningless.

Shea’s support for Biden reflects more than Trump Derangement Syndrome on steroids and amphetamines, or his own venal desire for revenge against the “MAGA Cut/Lie Machine” that he believes got him fired at the National Catholic Register. He is toeing the official Vatican line about “social justice.” Francis has stated publicly his support for things like a universal living wage, the George Floyd protests, “stakeholder capitalism” (a feature of the “great reset”), massive vaccination against Covid (despite studies showing that the vaccines are detrimental) and the whole “build back better” agenda. We know Shea supports most of this agenda.

Shea reflects the worst stereotype Protestants have of Catholics as people who follow the Pope blindly and don’t think for themselves. Then again, the entire Apologetics-Industrial Complex of the past 20-plus years has run so much interference for the hierarchy and papacy, including Francis, that its members (which includes Shea) probably forgot where they left truth.

Mark proves that for enough money one can forget the cooperation with the party of sodomy/transgenderism/baby butchering.

I knew you were going to talk about Shea when I saw the title of this post. Sin not only makes you stupid, it makes you boring. He fits the classic definition of a fanatic. He can’t change his mind, and he can’t change the subject. He’s absolutely obsessed with what he calls the MAGA cult, namely al of us who disagree with him.

The problem with Mark isn’t that he’s a frothing at the mouth Leftwing partisan fanatic. Nor is it his willingness to engage in anything right or wrong, whether he condemns others for it or not, to defend his zeal for the Democrats. It’s that it all seems motivated by an unhinged, near psychotic hatred of white conservative Christians and Republicans the likes of which I’ve seldom seen outside of a history book. That is the part that gives you the jitters, and a feeling something is terribly wrong whenever you read his attacks.

Here’s a tweet that nicely encapsulates Mark’s thought process:

https://twitter.com/chezami/status/1484681187280842753?cxt=HHwWgsCjyY7r0popAAAA

It is about Mark Shea claiming that Republicans are the real abortion supporters because, according to his link, Trump made abortion rates go up and Biden lowered them.
-He links to a report from the Guttmacher Institute. This is a former wing of Planned Parenthood and even after they “officially” separated from it it has done nothing but put out dishonest stats which benefit PP. (They were the ones to release the “98% of Catholic women use contraception!” stat.)
-However even if you trust the Guttmacher institute uncritically, one of the very first bullet points on the report is:

the decline in abortions appears to be related to declines in births and pregnancies overall.

That is, the rate that women kill their unborn babies didn’t change much, but women did end up getting pregnant less, and thus there were less babies to kill.
-But even if you think that reducing pregnancies is a good way to fight abortions, the report is about 2011-2017. It says nothing whatsoever about Biden’s presidency, nor about anything but the very beginning of Trump’s presidency. In fact I can’t find any reporting on abortion rates past 2018 (the only values that I have seen online are projections, not actual data; this is likely due to the fact that the CDC stats only go through 2018.)

In short, there is no way that Mark read the link he posted. I don’t know if he skimmed it and assumed in his hatred that it was pro-Biden and anti-Trump, or if he heard someone say that abortions went up under Trump and down under Biden and tried to “prove” it with the first link he found in a search (despite it being irrelevant.) But reality has very little to do with what he posted.

This is far from the first time that he’s done this sort of thing. His discussions of guns routinely involved him posting dozens of links and saying that there was no arguing with all the evidence, despite the majority of his links being completely irrelevant. He even did similar things to defend that dumb Solar Freakin’ Roadways scam.

“Pseudo-Intellectual” is the perfect term for him.

They were the ones to release the “98% of Catholic women use contraception!” stat.

Also the source of the claims that most people support abortion…where they published the questions, and by the definition they used in the questions, the Catholic Church supports abortion. (Allowing treatment which may indirectly cause the death of the child.)

So, the next year…they didn’t publish the questions. >.>

“there is no way that Mark read the link he posted”
You could make drinking game out of how many times Mark makes a claim about an article that either the article never makes, or is in complete contrast to the point the article makes. Whether he reads them and doesn’t care or doesn’t read them is anyone’s guess.

Sin didn’t make Shea stupid. Shea was always stupid. It’s just that his infatuation with his self-righteous anger exposed that stupidity to beyond obvious levels.

About 35% think things are going OK.

In fact, EVERYTHING was better under President Trump.

Tens of thousands more murdered in Blue cities.

Shoplifting now is a national pastime.

Massive increases in fentanyl imports and overdose deaths.

Millions of unvaxxed, human trafficked, terrorist Rio Grande invaders China Joe’s handlers invited in.

Unaffordable food and fuel prices.

Empty shelves. Supply chain messes.

Six hundred and sixty [and counting] days to flatten the curve.

Ineffective mask and vax diktats.

Suppressed China virus therapeutics.

Hundreds of Americans held hostage in Afghanistan.

Ceded [eventually] China Bagram AB.

Gave Islamic terrorists $85 billion worth of US weapons.

Thirteen GI’s KIA for nothing. No apologies. At the Dover AFB arrival of the bodies, while their families wept, he checked his watch.

Allowing Putin to ‘minor’ invade Ukraine.

The list goes on . . .

The first [the number is legion] mistake is the delusional belief that demented, execrable China Joe is president.
