Then out spake brave Horatius,
The Captain of the Gate:
“To every man upon this earth
Death cometh soon or late.
And how can man die better
Than facing fearful odds,
For the ashes of his fathers,
And the temples of his Gods.”
Thomas Babington Macaulay, How Horatius Held the Bridge
God rest his gallant soul. Tate Myre’s life was tragically brief, but his sacrificial ending was of the noblest. Prayers for him, and his family who must be buried in the blackest of grief now.
The killers parents need to be charged.
We always hear the killers’ names, or in a police shooting, the name of the dead. Tate Myre was a hero.
Fight or flight is instantaneous in many scenarios. I haven’t researched his history however I would gander a guess that he believed in God. Now, I pray, he is commissioned to serve Our King from the Highlands. May his spirit of courage be within the hearts of the Justices as the make their decision tomorrow.
[ My understanding is that they privately weigh in on their positions regarding Roe, tomorrow, then let us know in June.]
” No greater love than that he lay down is life for a friend.” A reminder that we still find such men.
