when’s the last time they’re weighed in on anything but “immigration”?
The bishops, for the most part, only weigh in on prudential matters that Catholics can licitly disagree on. They then make morally binding pronouncements on such matters as if they were moral writ.
On truly binding moral issues, they give a pass.

Someone’s GOT to challenge that autopen pardon in a court of law! It can’t be constitutional.
I’d like Don to weigh in on the nature of a pardon before accusation, prosecution and conviction.

The Pardon power is one of the few absolute powers in our system of government. There are no restrictions on it that I am aware of.

The principle of “informed consent”, both words, was dispensed with during this period. Much credibility was lost those in authority and deservedly so.
