PopeWatch: Father Z

Father Z is ticked to say the least:

Today – the 1st anniversary of when the demon idols of the hideous Pachamama were pitched into the Tiber River [HERE] – we learn that Francis has openly called for civil unions for homosexuals.

He did so in an interview for documentary about him.  CNA has the story HERE.   The documentary was seen in Rome today.  It will be released for North America on Sunday … which, given the content seems a desecration of the Lord’s Day.

“Homosexuals have a right to be a part of the family. They’re children of God and have a right to a family. Nobody should be thrown out, or be made miserable because of it,” Pope Francis said in the film, of his approach to pastoral care.

After those remarks, and in comments likely to spark controversy among Catholics, Pope Francis weighed in directly on the issue of civil unions for same-sex couples.

“What we have to create is a civil union law. That way they are legally covered,” the pope said. “I stood up for that.”

He said it in the film, not off camera as an aside, an off the cuff remark.

It’s one thing when some diocesan bishop in Argentina says something which flies directly in the face of the Church’s teaching.  It’s another when that diocesan bishop is in ROME.

Francis has, in the past, opined about this spiritually deadly proposition.  In 2014 he said something along these lines to Corriere della Sera.  In 2017 he is cited in a book called Politics and Society with a French sociologist Dominque Wolton.

And, in a seemingly affirmation that he really does think this possible, he says so in a video.

Creeping incrementalism, friends.   Step by step.  Brick from brick.  Acquiescence to adultery in Amoris.   Where does it end?   I think we are seeing where it ends.

First, it is quite simply horrifying that he, a Catholic, a Jesuit, a priest, a bishop, etc., would think that.

Second, it is quite simply horrifying that he, all of the above, would say that to someone else, anyone.

Third, it is quite simply horrifying that he would say it on camera, which means permanent record of this thoughts.

Fourth, it is quite simply horrifying that, on reflection and without doubt consultation on the content of the document, would permit that part to be left in documentary.

This will have dire consequences for the warp and weft of the Church.

Go here to read the rest.  Most anti-popes in the history of the Church have been better popes than this Pope.  God help us.

My daughter sent this note to her “partner”. Both go to Catholic Mass and Communion.
“Great news: Jill I’m happy for us!
Pope calls for civil unions for same-sex couples, in major departure from Vatican doctrine https://flip.it/PGnco3

I sent back this note:
Very bad news! “Pope” Francis can longer be Pope if he did as you say. He has excommunicated himself by approving same sex marriage if this is really true.
My personal belief along with others is that Pope Francis was an illegitimate Pope from day one. Pope Benedict was forced out and the election was manipulated.
Very bad Pope

This bit in the film might be another one of those “hit pieces” that serve a narrative rather than reflect the Pope’s actual thought on the matter.

Unfortunately, given the evidence, I, too, rather think that Yes, the Pope is okay with homosexual civil unions. Honestly, I think it likely he is fine with blessing them.

So…when’s the McCarrick report coming out?

DJH, I will go out on a limb (/sarc) and predict that we will only see the McCarrick report, if ever, after the next Conclave.

This is simply one of many heretical positions he holds. There is truly no news here. Along those lines, it is more than a little telling that Benedict, who abdicated because of health, is still alive. Keep wearing white Pope Emeritus!

Two popes? Are we repeating the old Avignon papacy? Actually this isn’t about which pope is legitimate, but more about, “Can a legitimate pope believe such error?”

Most antipopes in history have at least been Catholic. Unlike Bergoglio.

You’re coming around Mr. McClarey, you’re coming around.

P. S. Thx for recent good movie picks.

Ok. This pope has destroyed everything that brought me into the Catholic Church. How are we to know if our local bishops & priests are going to start blessing civil unions of homosexuals in our parish? How are we supposed to know if this abomination is being pushed in my diocese/parish. I have already stopped giving money to my parish & have sought other ways to donate.
I absolutely will not stand for it!

@THE CHRISTIAN TEACHER, everything that brought you into the Catholic Church still exists in a Latin Mass parish. Just sayin’.

He knows he’s an absolute monarch and he isn’t going to let anything like tradition, custom or precedent interfere with his whims.

Can. 331 The bishop of the Roman Church, in whom continues the office given by the Lord uniquely to Peter, the first of the Apostles, and to be transmitted to his successors, is the head of the college of bishops, the Vicar of Christ, and the pastor of the universal Church on earth. By virtue of his office he possesses supreme, full, immediate, and universal ordinary power in the Church, which he is always able to exercise freely.

Can. 332 §1. The Roman Pontiff obtains full and supreme power in the Church by his acceptance of legitimate election together with episcopal consecration. Therefore, a person elected to the supreme pontificate who is marked with episcopal character obtains this power from the moment of acceptance. If the person elected lacks episcopal character, however, he is to be ordained a bishop immediately.
§2. If it happens that the Roman Pontiff resigns his office, it is required for validity that the resignation is made freely and properly manifested but not that it is accepted by anyone.

Can. 333 §1. By virtue of his office, the Roman Pontiff not only possesses power offer the universal Church but also obtains the primacy of ordinary power offer all particular churches and groups of them. Moreover, this primacy strengthens and protects the proper, ordinary, and immediate power which bishops possess in the particular churches entrusted to their care.
§2. In fulfilling the office of supreme pastor of the Church, the Roman Pontiff is always joined in communion with the other bishops and with the universal Church. He nevertheless has the right, according to the needs of the Church, to determine the manner, whether personal or collegial, of exercising this office.
§3. No appeal or recourse is permitted against a sentence or decree of the Roman Pontiff.

Dale–

Your critique applies only if Bergoglio is actually pope. He is not however bc Pope Benedict was coerced (Canon 188) to tender his resignation, such as it was; and even then (ie even if it cannot be proven that he was coerced) failed, refused, and declined to resign the office/charge/munus as req’d under Canon Law, Canon 332.2.

Benedict only resigned the ministry; and only the active ministry at that. Take a look at the text of his resignation statement, the infamous Declaratio of Feb. 13th, A. D. 2013.

False Pope & Anti-Pope Bergoglio knows full well therefore, that he’s not the pope, and never has been. Especially as he was and is part of the cabal aka the clerical Homosexual Network Strangling the Church (cf. Viganò Testimony of August 2018), that forced out Benedict in the first place.

Therefore false pope and Anti-Pope Francis has ZERO authority over the Catholic Church. He’s running a scam. One we’d all do well to recognize and declaim.

All these excuse-mongers (“He didn’t mean it;” “It wasn’t official but ‘private'”; “It’s only magisterial if it’s true, i.e., magisterial”) need to redpill before it’s too late…and they follow Bergoglio into Hell (which doesn’t exist, of course; Jorge says so).

Just stick to the simple truth. Bergoglio is in schism from Christ, and therefore cannot be the Vicar of Christ. Therefore he is not the pope.

Who is? Why Benedict of the forced, incomplete, and therefore invalid resignation.

We have two men in white both claiming to be ‘Pope.’

For me and my house, we take the Catholic one.

Maybe It’s an attempt by he and his inner circle to cause a Schism in the church.
The protestant reformation would be welcomed back and in full union.
Conversely, a catholic reformation would leave the church/full union and replace the protestant reformation.

Otherwise, there are catholic saints / seers who mentioned that before the second coming, there will be two churches in His One Holy Catholic Apostolic Church. This is what I believe is going on. Because Jesus said that even though you do miracles, wonders, cast out demons in MY NAME I DO NOT KNOW YOU…
