PopeWatch: Women Priests

PopeWatch2-199x300-199x300-199x300

Don’t faint, but Pope Francis made a perfectly orthodox statement during an inflight interview:

Pope Francis has ruled out a woman ever serving as a priest in the Roman Catholic church.

The declaration is not a change in stance for the Argentinian pope, who has always said the door was closed on women being ordained as priests.

But when he was asked and then pressed on the matter by a Swedish journalist during a press conference onboard the papal plane, Francis suggested the ban would be eternal.

“Saint Pope John Paul II had the last clear word on this and it stands, this stands,” Francis said in his initial response, referring to a 1994 document stating that women could never join the priesthood.

“But for ever, for ever? Never, never?” the reporter asked in a follow-up question, as the papal delegation flew back to Rome from Sweden on Tuesday.

Francis replied: “If we read carefully the declaration by St John Paul II, it is going in that direction.”

The pope went on to say women did “many other things better than men”, emphasising what has been called the “feminine dimension of the church”.

“People ask me: ‘Who is more important in the theology or in the spirituality of the church, the apostles or Mary, on the day of Pentecost?’ It is Mary,” he said. He then added: “More.”

“[I]t is going in that direction. ” He does seem a bit like he doesn’t want to give the answer he is giving, but I don’t know if he was speaking English or Spanish, and it could simply be the manner of speaking.
.
This does seem terribly un-ecumenical. How will we have inter Communion with the Lutherans and Anglicans/Episcopals?
.
Another thing I wonder is why be firm on no women in the priesthood, but okay for divorced/remarried to have Communion? Why be okay with homosexuality, and condemn the “gender” crowd.
.
It’s kind of like none of these issues have a neat, logical flow or orderliness to them. He likes what he likes, dumps what he doesn’t.

DJH hit on a key point. Jorge Bergoglio cannot think logically. He cannot proceed from principle to conclusion via reason. He is completely overtaken by sentimentality which he confuses with mercy. He cannot logically explain why women can never be priests – it is due to the nature of her being. She cannot be Father. She cannot act in persona Christi. She cannot be an alter Christus. But in the interview he speaks of the greatness of the role that the Blessed Virgin Mary plays – perhaps one greater at Pentecost than that of the male Apostles (I do not say he is right in that statement; only that he makes it). Yet he cannot explain this greatness – Deborah and Jahel in Judges, Judith and Esther, and others. Those examples would conflict with his sentimentality because God’s mercy for His chosen people in revealed in God’s wrath against evil doers who are struck down by strong women devoted to the Almighty (Jahel put a tent peg in Sisera’s head and Judith decapitated Holofernes – my kind of girls!). He does not tell the reporter asking the questions that just as a woman cannot be a father and thus a priest, so can a man not be a mother to imitate the Blessed Virgin. But a woman can be (and should be) a heroine just as a man can be (and should be) a hero. Therefore, while he decries gender theory, he cannot apply it to sodomites because sentimentality for him triumphs truth since sentimentality feels closer to mercy. He fails to accept what Jesus said – know the truth and the truth will set you free. Trey Gowdy made a an excellent speech on that at (I think) Liberty University recently. Jorge Bergoglio will however find out one day – likely when he stands before Christ (as we all will; I tremble at the thought) – that his sentimentality was unmerciful, unkind, and unjust because it greased the skids to hell for so many people. Then will he be reminded of Ezekiel 34:1-10.

“But for ever, for ever? Never, never?”
.
We complain about the Pope a lot, but how about the theological depth of the average religion reporter?

Pinky,
.
The average reporter is as ignorant of religion and history as he or she is of science, engineering and mathematics. A reporter’s abysmal lack of knowledge and critical thinking skills when it comes to religion is exceeded only by that reporter’s abysmal lack of knowledge and critical thinking skills when it comes to subjects like nuclear energy. When these people study journalism in academia, they are required to open their minds so wide that all the intelligence falls on out. Just as they don’t know the difference between Joseph and Pharoah, or between Ezekiel and Isaiah, or between Peter and Paul, so also do they not know the difference between a neutron and a neutrino, or a control rod and a fuel rod, or between a PWR and a BWR. That’s why they cannot understand that a woman cannot be a Father and thus cannot be a priest. Regardless of what genitals they have, they don’t know the difference between boy and girl. They don’t even know if they are a boy or a girl! They are dumb idiot liberal progressive feminists, the lot of them, and to pay them any heed only serves to demonstrate that one’s own ignorance is greater than theirs.

I expect that of an average reporter. I’d think, though, that if you’ve worked a “beat” for a while you’d pick up some basic things. Basic things like “Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, but not for ever for ever, ever ever” is a misreading.

A person must be called to the Sacrament of Holy Orders. A person must have a vocation to be a priest.
LQC: Correct.
“Let us make man in our own image, in the likeness of ourselves….” (Gen.1: 26) …in the image and likeness of The Trinity, the Person of the Father, the Person of the Son and the Person of the Holy Spirit.
God created man in the image of Himself,
In the image of God, He created him,
Male and female He created them. (Gen.1: 27)
“It is my delight to be among the sons of men” Jesus Christ said. The Father created The Blessed Virgin Mary to be the Mother of His Son, Jesus Christ. The Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of Jesus Christ, was created in original innocence as were our first parents, Adam and Eve, in the likeness of God and in sovereign personhood with a rational, immortal, human soul and free will.
The Mother of God, The Blessed Virgin Mary was created by God at the request of His Son, Jesus Christ before the fall of Adam and Eve. Every human soul is created by God at the request of man in procreation. The fall of Adam and Eve leaves all generations of mankind with concupiscence, the Original Sin of our first parents.
The Immaculate Conception is the creation of Mary’s soul, Virgin and Mother, at the request of The Son of God, before the Original Sin of Adam and Eve. Mary is the Woman who will crush Satan’s head. There is nothing Satan can do to implicate Mary in the Sin of Adam. Lucifer said: “I will not serve”. Mary asks nothing but to do the will of God in humility. There is no defect in Mary’s Virginity that the devil can manipulate to have any leverage over her sovereignty. Satan can bang his head on the brimstone and fire walls of hell, but to no avail. Mary, The Mother of God is preserved from the Original Sin of Adam and Eve. Mary vanquishes Satan in time and in eternity. Mary is the lone human being so created, a woman.
In pride, (I know not why) some sovereign persons who are created equal to every other sovereign person, who, as males treat women as less than themselves. They treat women as somebody to be owned. It is as though they assume the female’s informed consent to become their wife without the woman giving her informed consent to become their wife; indiscriminately treating all women as their wife, without the one sovereign person who has informed consent to become their wife. Persons addicted to sodomy and slavishly wallowing in their concupiscence, have no informed consent to give, for they have disenfranchised themselves of their sovereign free will to be addicted to sodomy. Consenting adults will first have to prove to the Supreme Court that they have informed consent to give to sodomy before any judgement may be forthcoming to legalize the addiction to sodomy. In the same manner, the transgendered or gendered identity individual has forfeit his informed consent to give to any testimony to truth and contract through truth after giving his sovereign personhood into indentured slavery to concupiscence, the Original Sin of Adam and Eve.
All persons are created equal in Original Innocence. Their moral and legal innocence are the standard of Justice for the state, until such time that they reject their innocence for the indulgence in concupiscence through their free will and rational soul. Created equal, some sovereign persons maintain their original innocence and some sovereign persons must pursue their original innocence through the freedom of “the pursuit of Happiness”. This is the state upholding man to his true dignity.
“We, the people” have Mary the sinless Virgin to uphold man to his true dignity.

God, “their Creator” brought the woman to the man and gave her in marriage to the man with instructions to “increase and multiply”. The first marriage was between our first parents with The Blessed Trinity of Persons, The Supreme Sovereign Being, God, as witness. The Blessed Virgin Mary, having been created at the desire of His Son, and representing the whole human race, mankind, was witness. Two witnesses establish a judicial fact.
God gave Adam his name: Adam. Adam named his wife Eve. Our first parents, in free will chose to follow the serpent: “I will not serve”
The Blessed Virgin Mary, in free will, chose to remain a virgin, as the handmaid of the Lord. God favored Mary’s choice.
God promised to send His Son to redeem mankind. God condemned the serpent for entertaining the devil. God promised the serpent that his head will be crushed by the Virgin.
God cannot contradict Himself. God cannot be and not be. The atheist cannot be and God not be. God keeps His promise.

The basic human biological question in relation to women being priests is answered in gender difference – gender is important in theology, as was intimated in a comment above.
Of course, women priests would certainly meet the approval of modernist activists, in that they claim that women can do anything that men do.
Because Jesus was a man, priests are consecrated “in persona Christi” – in the person of Christ. The Church, feminine, is the Bride of Christ, masculine. If a woman were consecrated into “persona Christi”, the “persona” of Christ would be feminine – not masculine.
Wouldn’t that be a wonderful message to, and fulfillment of the aspirations of modernists and feminists throughout the world – a feminine Christ being, the spouse of ‘his/her’ bride, the Church – which is also in the feminine.
The Lesbian Catholic Church – the aim of all Homosexual activists, including priests and bishops within the Church -those who betray Christ. Like Kasper, Marx, Cupich and their ilk.
Satan has another victory.
