Pence zeroes in on Clinton and her influence peddling as Secretary of State for donations to the Clinton Foundation and big speaking fees for Bill. He and Trump should focus on five issues:
- Â Clinton is a crook and everyone sentient knows it.
- The economy is terrible.
- She is clueless on responding effectively to terrorism.
- Clinton is on the side of those who are waging war on cops.
- If you want to keep things the same, vote for Clinton, the champion of the insiders who are the only ones getting rich.
I realize this might be tame compared to Trump’s usual rambling stream of consciousness rants, but it would have the virtue of getting him elected.
I cannot keep up with all the political news going on. And what I do see and hear disgusts me. I think we are in for another 4 years of Democratic control of the White House. Trump is imploding and he cannot stop himself. He runs his campaign like reality TV, and nothing he says inspires me. But Hillary is worse by far – a murderous pathological liar who should be tried for treason. God save America. We cannot.
This sounds great for the anti-Clinton part of the campaign; I am also interested in them zeroing in and talking about solutions on each of those issues.
Not just that Hillary is a crook, but that the justice system is too willing to be used as a political arm. …how to bring the justice department to justice. I don’t know- could there be a solution for that ? IRS too, Various government agencies are staffed with the same people through changing administrations and are often guilty of a kind of “clericalism” if I can make a church analogy. How can change be made in those agencies who already have so much “baked in the cake”
2- terrible economy – everywhere, not just here in USA- I certainly don’t know solutions but would really like to hear more about what can be done
Solutions and the way forward- that is what I’d like to hear
Barron’s magazine cover today features a smiling Hillary with the headline: “It’s Starting to Look Like Hillary’s World”. Barron’s has been for Hillary all along mostly because they think Trump would be harmful to the cozy relationship business has with government and Democrats in particular. As far as the five negatives these would have little appeal to the 50% of the voters who are designated “victims”.
1. Clinton is a crook. Reply: They are all crooks especially Trump.
2. Economy is terrible. Reply: That’s why we need Hillary for government help.
3. Clueless on terrorism. Reply: She doesn’t want to start a religious war.
4. She sides with those who hate cops: Reply: You go girl.
5. She sides with insiders. Reply: Smart woman.
Republicans are going to have the next 4 years to figure things out. Hopefully, they will come up with a solid candidate and program. Frankly, I’m not confident they can as our system is so corrupt. And the folks with all the money are world citizens whose goal is capital preservation. The current system works for them and they like it that way.

Replies to the replies:
1. Clinton is an influence peddler. As President she will sell the country’s interests out to the highest bidder and the media will protect her. Trump the media will watch like a hawk and attack him if he coughs wrong.
2. More of the same a la Obama. Proof that she is the avatar of the status quo.
3. Wrong. She doesn’t want to recognize facts out of political correctness and the desire to reap Islamic votes in this country.
4. That is a dead loser with most Americans. More Milwaukees and we shall see that.
5. I hope the Democrats would be dumb enough to argue that.
Trump would be a terrible president but this election is eminently winnable by the Republicans.
Well, Donald I hope you are right. But we must remember you can’t go wrong by underestimating the intelligence of the electorate. By the way, my 5 points express how her voters think about her. They are not arguments to be used to convince the undecided.
Parts of her coalition would not be convinced if she was shown accepting cash from Putin on live TV. Other parts of her coalition on the other hand have a fair amount of antipathy towards her. They would never vote for Trump, but they might vote Green, Libertarian or stay home. It is interesting that thus far the Libertarians seem to be taking more support from Clinton than from Trump, a tribute to how far left the Libertarians are this time, and how many liberals are looking for an alternative to Clinton.
