Robert Silverberg’s sci-fi short fiction, “Good News from the Vatican,” tells the story of a robot pope. It won the 1971 Nebula Award for the best short fiction. (Wasn’t all that sympathetic or knowledgeable about Catholic Teaching.) More examples of life imitating art?
