Something for the weekend. Compare and contrast these two versions of The Bold Fenian Men.  Although I have long been a fan of the Clancy Brothers, I confess that I prefer the acappella version. The Sons of the Pioneers did a notable version of the song in the John Wayne movie Rio Grande, anachronistically singing a song in the 1870s that would not be written until 1916.

Indeed Jay. Erin Go Bragh!
Impressive Irish, there Jay!
I just love the Clancy brothers.
I sing this song almost every single day. In fact I sang it just today over the phone to a friend in Scotland. Am I Irish? Only in me hearrrrrrrrt. But I do love those Scottish and Irish ballads of bravery and valor.
First time visitor. It rocks to be Catholic. And priests are prayed for daily in this house.
“I sing this song almost every single day.”
I’m glad I’m not the only one.
“It rocks to be Catholic. ”
It sure does!
