Most elected Democrats have usually had only brief periods of private sector employment, if that, before becoming full time politicians.
The Party of Government

Cradle Catholic. Active in the pro-life movement since 1973. Father of three, one in Heaven, and happily married for 43 years. Small town lawyer and amateur historian. Former president of the board of directors of the local crisis pregnancy center for a decade.
And, the private sector employment is almost exclusively limited to “non-profit” entities that live off the government. If Caesar was running against Jesus for political office, they’d vote for Caesar
I know a Democrat who had been a submarine Engineering Officer (thank God not an Engineering Officer on my submarine). When he retired, he went to work for US DOE. His employment was by the government for the next 30 years or so except for a brief 2 year stint at a small modular reactor company which went belly-up during the Obama Administration. He never worked at a commercial nuclear reactor in his entire life, but he has a whole lot to say about working at such a facility. Now all that said, when he sticks to nuclear engineering, he’s rather good. But whenever he opines on anything outside that small narrow discipline, he’s a typical godless, pro-abortion, pro-sodomy Democrat. Interestingly, he vacillates like the wind, or maybe like Mitt Romney the Weather Vane. With Obama in power, he described himself as a strong Democrat union supporter (though he’s never been a member of any of the trade unions working at nuclear power plants). With Trump in power, he describes himself as no part affiliation. He is an unprincipled man, saying whatever will give him clicks on Twitter / X. I have since blocked him. Indeed, I don’t need him spouting off his Democrat ideology in my life. One of my friends at a different employer knew him and told me never to get him involved in our reactor project because he is an arrogant uppity self-promoting narcissist. Typical Democrat. But my whole point is this: he could NEVER EVER succeed outside of government employment. Why? Because he IS a Democrat. It’s that simple. And no, I won’t state his name here at TAC because he doesn’t frequent this blog to defend himself. I myself should refrain from being like him. God help me!
