Go here to read the article. It is proof of the supernatural nature of the Church that men are willing to sign up for this truly thankless job. Of course Christ should be the model for all priests, in His thankless mission to save us from the fires of Hell. Alter Christus is not just a figure of speech.
The Fathers Need Help

Donald R. McClarey
Cradle Catholic. Active in the pro-life movement since 1973. Father of three, one in Heaven, and happily married for 43 years. Small town lawyer and amateur historian. Former president of the board of directors of the local crisis pregnancy center for a decade.
Fr. Stravinskas only briefly touches on the elephant in the room in a most indirect way – the homosexualization of the seminaries and how the normal (i e. “straight”) seminarians are shunned and isolated for not playing along with the game. Most (but not all) of the things he brought up can be connected to that.
I try to assist and support our priests however I can and am sorry that our newest priests face additional difficulties.
However, I believe the priesthood must become difficult again in order to keep out those who would seek it for prestige or comfort.
I believe all of us know priests who would seem to fit these categories and they are the ones who do the least to advance His work. (And greatly need our prayers!)
