I Haven’t Seen Democrats This Mad Since the Last Time We Took Away Their Slaves

News that I missed, courtesy of The Babylon Bee:

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — For the second time in American history, Democrats are threatening civil war if Republicans do not stop taking away their slave laborers.

Democratic Governor and former Vice Presidential nominee Tim Walz has warned that he is prepared to call up soldiers to fight the Republican administration if it does not stop removing his state’s slaves.

“We’re prepared to fight,” announced Walz in a press conference. “We demand the immediate withdrawal of the Union, excuse me, federal troops who are taking away the slaves. If the government will not recognize our state’s right to slave ownership, we will have no choice but secession and war.”

Several other Democratic states have threatened to join Minnesota, in what the states are tentatively calling a “Confederacy”. Plans are already in the works for a battle flag, featuring an “X” pattern with a star for each seceding state. Troops from multiple Democratic states are reportedly being massed near the Bull Run River in Virginia for training.

Go here to read the rest.  They even have a Bonnie Blue, (Somalia), Flag again!  Just like old times.

Whoever that woman is, she brought death upon herself. Romans 13:1-7.

Orationes in Catalinam 4:6
Marcus Tullius Cicero

I have long seen that great fury is being stirred up in the republic, and that new evils are being mixed and stirred up, but I never thought that this great and disastrous conspiracy would be held by the citizens. Now, whatever it is, wherever your minds and opinions incline, you must decide before nightfall. You see how much crime has been brought against you. If you think that few are related to this, you are greatly mistaken. This evil has been spread more widely than you think.

They would never use “X” on their flag, it would remind them of Elon Musk.

Wait until the rest of the Fortune 500 leave California and New York for Texas and Florida respectively and then kick the deep blue states out. That would leave room to add Alberta and a couple of the western Canadian provinces. Let Mexico annex California and what’s left of Canada annex New York. Or maybe we should fight the Second Mexican American War and a Second War of 1812 to force them to take them. Things would be a lot quieter and both NY and California can continue their civic suicide unimpeded.

If the new F Troop locks and loads like Ten-Thumb Timmy, the war will last a hilarious five seconds.

Tim Byrne, sadly the war won’t be five seconds. The left will have renegades like Senator / Captain Mark Kelly as their military leaders and it will be as disastrous as the first Civil War was in terms of blood and lives lost. But these people are committing insurrection, the very thing of which they accuse us.

Back in the 60’s a black sheep portion of my family left Michigan for Bakersfield, Ca. My father observed that it was providence. California was the land of fruits and nuts and that bunch would certainly fit in. Needless to say we never visited them.

After hearing a lot of arguments on the left that this was an “unprovoked murder” I realized that their arguments were the same as those used by “Sovereign Citizens.”

In both cases the argument will blatantly ignore cause. Here they say that the ICE officer was in no danger when not only did have a vehicle driving at him, he was actually hit by the vehicle. Similarly Sovereign Citizens will claim that they were pulled over “for no just cause” even when they have no license plates or just got done dangerously swerving through multiple lanes of traffic.

Here the woman is defended by saying “she waved the ICE officers past her.” Of course that doesn’t give her the right to plow through them, but putting that aside she has no authority to direct the ICE officers or to ignore their lawful orders in the first place. Similarly Sovereign Citizens will order the police officers who pull them over, refuse to comply with simple orders like “please step out of your vehicle” and act like because the officer did not use the terms that the Sovereign Citizen expected, that this justifies driving off from the stop.

In both cases the law is viewed as a magic spell full of loopholes that only benefit the sovereign citizen or protestor.

Something to realize though is that the people defending her actions are completely disingenuous. They will give you a reason, but this is really just an excuse, and if you prove that it doesn’t work they will just make something up on the spot. So you can get into exchanges like:

A: “How is the shooting justified, when she was just sitting in her van?”

B: “She drove it at the ICE officer and could have killed him.”

A: “Okay, but she probably only barely brushed his side. That’s not a threat!”

B: “You can clearly see the officer colliding with the front bumper.”

A: “Okay, but even if she had hit him, she wasn’t a threat after she got away. There was no excuse to shoot her from behind.”

B: “The shot came through the front windshield.”

A: “Okay, but couldn’t he have just shot a tire to instantly stop the van instead?”

B: “You can still drive on a flat, and even if you couldn’t the laws of physics wouldn’t allow the van to come to an immediate stop anyway.”

and so on and so on and so on, forever. No matter how many times you prove them wrong, they’ll just make something else up on the spot.

Rudolph.

You are making an observation that is very familiar to me. The liberal mind never loses an argument. It just changes the topic.

I’m so old I remember when Minnesota was a very nice, to the point of being dull, state populated by phlegmatic Swedes and Norweigan descendants (a la Lake Wobegon), and when you thought of the Twin Cities, you pictured Mary Tyler Moore tossing her hat in the air. IIRC Minnesota came surprisingly close to flipping for Trump in 2016, closer than expected. Ten or 15 years ago, it would have been one of the last states I would expect to go insanely radical. Then again, I doubt very much that the entire state outside of Mpls/StPaul is in line with this, any more than the entire state of Illinois aligns politically with Chicago.
