I have a friend, a retired Judge. During the Vietnam War he was a medical tech and as part his duties he would do psych evaluations. He told me that quite a few of them ended up like the above evaluation from The Dirty Dozen.

Psych evaluations for my shipmates & me aboard the Old Bone (USS Jacksonville SSN-699) were different, but likely had the same result. None of us were morons; far from it. But we were all crazy. Best group of guys ever.
LQC, I say this out of admiration, not spite: you may not have to be crazy to spend years of your life underwater, in a tiny metal tube the ocean is trying to destroy, but it probably helps. 😁
Frank, some submariners can be odd ducks, indeed, but I’ve never met one who wasn’t also brilliant.
