Toppest of Secrets

News that I missed, courtesy of The Babylon Bee:

DIGHTON, MA — Military police have arrested Jack Teixeira for allegedly leaking classified documents that contained information on the war in Ukraine. Teixeira, an Air National Guardsman, is currently kicking himself for not just leaving documents strewn around an unlocked garage as the President did.

“Ugh! I’m so stupid! Why didn’t I just print them out and leave them in a garage, or a vacation home, or the trunk of a Corvette?” said the distraught Teixeira while being hauled away. “What on earth was I thinking?”

According to sources, military leadership is trying to decide between the non-judicial punishments of Gitmo or the firing squad.
Go here to read the rest.  Now let’s get this straight, a 21 year old member of the Air Force National Guard, a buck sergeant, is able to get his hands on top secret documents regarding the war in Ukraine?  The problem isn’t this special snowflake who should have the book tossed at him, but the apparently cavalier manner in which high classification documents are treated within the military.

Let’s say the Russians are interested in spying upon us, which they certainly are.  How much info have they gained from low level members of the military with relatively small cash payments, and\or “honey traps”?  We found out about this doofus due to the fact that he photographed the documents at his family home, leaving details in the picture.  It wouldn’t take much spycraft for the Russians to be undetectable by comparison.

It has been proposed by some that this story is being used to fan the flames for the passage of the Restrict Act , if passed the Restrict Act will be the nail in the coffin for American freedoms, also called the tick tock ban -which , guess what never mentions Tick tock , yep sounds about right for where we are in the clown show, upside down world

Seen on facebook. The ONLY secure document in the US is Epstein’s client list.

Around about 1985, Les Whitten, then Jack Anderson’s deputy, maintained that a seven-digit population of federal officials had the authority to classify a document, an act which was generally done to conceal bureaucratic bungling. He said documents marked ‘Top Secret’ generally have a hot item in them, but those marked ‘confidential’ and ‘secret’ generally did not.

“this story is being used to fan the flames for the passage of the Restrict Act”
One sure sign the RESTRICT Act is bad: its name is a contrived acronym (Restricting the Emergency of Security Threats that Risk Information and Communications Technology) just like the USA PATRIOT Act (Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools to Restrict, Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism). That, to me, indicates a bill that has to be “sold” to the public with a catchy title because it can’t stand on its merits.

That should be “Restricting the Emergence of Security Threats”

Were the other party in charge, the Dems and the MSM would be referring to this gentleman as a “whistleblower.” Where do I contribute to his legal expenses?
