Mayan Rite

No,this is not from The Babylon Bee:

Cardinal Felipe Arizmendi Esquivel, Bishop emeritus of the San Cristobal de Las Casas diocese in Mexico and one of the leading promoters of this new rite, kindly provided LifeSite with the official draft of the new Mayan rite of Mass that will be first presented to the Mexican bishops’ conference in April and then to the Vatican in May.

The document, which is entitled “Adaptations to the Ordinary of the Mass among the Indigenous Peoples of the Diocese of San Cristobal de las Casas, Chiapas” and dated April 2023, is 31 pages long and explains in detail every change that is to be made to the ordinary rite of Mass of the Roman missal. It also proposes specific changes to the rubrics of the ordinary Mass. A commission of nearly 20 people – two bishops, many priests and some women – prepared this document.

The Diocese of San Cristobal de Las Casas had been disciplined under the pontificate of Benedict XVI for having introduced a new indigenous married permanent diaconate in which the wives of the married deacons were included in the ministry, thus giving hopes for a married priesthood. Rome even ordered in 2005 then-Bishop Arizmendi to stop such ordinations. Very quickly after Pope Francis’ election to the papal throne, however,  this situation was completely reversed, and the Pope is actively encouraging the liturgical “inculturation” that is being pursued in Southern Mexico.

As we shall see, the official document about this new Mayan rite of Mass is following this path of strengthening the role of the male and female laity at Mass and including many Mayan rituals that have idolatrous meaning in the Mayan religion.

Go here to read the rest.  So, no traditional Mass, while pagan rites are incorporated in new “masses”.  Whatever this is, it isn’t Catholicism.

At Planned Parenthood when were confronted by opposition, abortion supporters, we would hear; It’s Mayan Rite.

The Mayan rituals of yesterday should be remembered. The Queen of Heaven brought about the establishment of Her Son’s Holy Church in 1531. Is that not enough?

It’s not My Rite…it’s Jesus’ right to teach all nations and feed them in good pastureland. To fill them with himself. If there is a slight opening for female ordination to occur in this new Rite, you can be certain that it will be exploited in the West.
The feeding grounds will be poisoned.

No way, Jose.

This is analogous to Biden’s handlers’ open border policy.

The whole thing is not Catholic or true to the Gospel.

We have a lot to learn from the Maya: human sacrifice, idolatry, genocidal war, slavery, the world ended in 2012, etc. But “Lo the noble savage.” is all the rage among the hellions.

The evangelicals will grow by leaps and bounds–just like they do everywhere Rome tries this patronizing modernist crap that puts man before Christ.

“Rome opts for the poor and the poor opt for the evangelicals.”

Apparently, the believers in Ephesus who burned their magic scrolls were doing it wrong; they should have instead petitioned Rome for an “Ephesian Rite” that incorporated their cultural traditions of honoring Artemis and practicing sorcery. Perhaps they could have even placed an altar to Artemis in one of the early churches, er, I mean, placed an “Ephesian Offering” where they offer prayers in respect to virginity, fertility, hunting, etc., as multi-faceted means to represent and commune with God. Obviously his excellency St. Timothy would have been instrumental in proposing and advocating for this rite, just like his modern day confreres.

Don’t worry though, it definitely would not be pagan: “In the Ephesian rites that we propose in the Mass,” the prelate told LifeSite, “there is nothing of animism, polytheism, etc., of the ancient Ephesians. The rites that we propose have a Catholic base, but developed by these new peoples, who have Ephesian origins, but who have distanced themselves from the ancient Ephesians.”

Sigh. I sometimes wonder if the current hierarchy got a hold of a bunch of Jack Chick tracts and misunderstood that they were caricatured critiques of Catholicism rather than a program for renewal.

I can’t wait for the next Traditional Faithful Pope- who will undoubtedly eventually come around, whether it’s straight after the one we currently have or whether we’re gifted with a few rounds later- to throw this entire garbage out, along with the bored-stiff Cardinals, Bishops and Priests- including the Vicar of Dibley-esque imposters in collars- because they have nothing constructive to do with their day other than device idiotic ways to mess with the Mass. Ho early who gave the patients permission to run the asylum?I hope I’m still alive when it happens. Because it WILL happen!

Never type while angry, Ezabelle (let me type while angry).

Early Mayan period paganism started, at most—at most—ca. AD 250-600.

Even the latest version of the Gen Instruction of the Roman Missal admits “traditions of the first centuries,” as well as theological insights of specifically S. Irenaeus (d. 202 AD), S. Ambrose (d.397 AD), S. Cyril of Jerusalem (d. 386 AD), and S. John Chrysostom (d.407 AD) are evident in “the unbroken tradition” of the [mis-named] Tridentine Mass (GIRM no.8)— although the GIRM authors just can’t bring themselves to admit that the fundamental elements, prayers, and structure of the ancient Roman Mass really go back to the Upper Room with Christ and the Apostles (which they contradict themselves by simultaneously claiming “an unbroken tradition”), an enduring error of 1960’s Bugninism we will be stuck with as long as the Vatican II dinosaurs like Bergoglio and his herd of shallow theological thinkers called bishops and cardinals perdure.

So, we should be glad that the supposedly ancient “Mayan Rite,” ( rumor has it Arizmendi Esquivel calls it “My Own Rite”), pagan as it is, gets institutionalized. One guesses.

Even though the ancient Roman Mass is older, has more documentation, oh, and it is from Christ. That guy..
