Many Saints had a past and many sinners have a future.
– -paraphrasing warning–
CS Lewis wrote;
The Son of God became a man to Enable men to become Son’s of God.
Without the Cross and His most Precious Blood, I find it hard to believe that men can be saved or even be considered as being a son to God as Lewis wrote. Forgiveness of Sins. With the forgiveness of sins for a sinner, with a contrite heart, Jesus not only Saves us from ourselves, but calls us friends as we implement Our Father’s will as best we can in this valley of tears.
Thank God for God.
On your next visit to the little box have that clip in mind. Whether it’s been 2 weeks or 20 years, go to that box and open up your soul to the one who opened up His Heart for you.
Being a son of God isn’t cheap.
It’s gonna cost, but instead of your blood it’s gonna be your act of humility that brings you to a new resurrection. One paid for by Christ.
Oscar Wilde evidently did not believe in the Blessed Virgin Mary who is the Immaculate Conception, our Mother, the Mother of saints and sinners. Who else is there besides saints and sinners? All men are respectible people. The Anglican Church does not believe in the Blessed Mother, nor the Real Presence of Jesus Christ on the altar. That is why Saint John Henry Newman left the Anglican Church. “What is $75,000.00 compared to one Holy Communion?” Newman.
Mary:
Anglicans certainly believe Mary is the Theotokos, and many accept the Assumption as a pious belief, although not a doctrine.
Wilde’s wit was not always appreciated by his listeners. He sometimes made the mistake of assuming they were as intelligent and erudite as he was.
Donald:
–and sometimes that he was as intelligent and erudite as HE thought he was.
Tom: Comes with the territory. I’m sure you have noted that most of today’s commentators seem to have mastered neither.
