Second Impeachment

How lunatic are the Dems in Congress?  Lunatic enough to attempt a second impeachment against Trump with him leaving office on January 20.  Now why are they doing this, since it is dubious that anyone not in office can be impeached, the likelihood of getting 67 votes to convict in the Senate is nil and the idea that this would disqualify Trump in the future from being elected President is questionable?  (Alcee Hastings, who was impeached and convicted as a bribe taking Federal Judge, has been a member of the House for decades.)

Because the Dems have decided to whip up hysteria over the Capitol Hill Riot, which they and their propagandists, erroneously called the Media, frame as an “insurrection”, in order to criminalize their political adversaries as “domestic terrorists”.  In short they wish to use the Capitol Hill Riot as a Reichstag Fire and pass their own version of the Reichstag Fire Decree depriving their adversaries of civil rights.  The Silicon Valley move of purging conservatives from the Internet is right in line with the banning of opposition newspapers under the Reichstag Fire Decree.  That this is insane and will provoke opposition that will shake the foundations of this country is apparently of no consequence to the Dems.  The Dems are about to learn that this country is not a college campus writ large where a speech code can be imposed and conservatives silenced.

Biden has been talking about unity.  The unity the Dems in Congress seem to want was expressed under their role model regime:  Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Führer.

Well said Donald. There will be serious blow-back. Every Democrat politician should be scared along with prominent members of the MSM. What the Democrats are doing is plainly stupid.

There’s also the possibility that they’re trying to provoke riots and instigate any violence they can on inauguration day. Think of what they’ve gotten since Wednesday. Another nice uprising, some vandalism and a little of the old ultra-violence, and what more could they push? Especially when so many conservatives, Republicans and religious leaders have joined the Left in condemning ‘the Insurrection’.

Their own media aren’t trying to sell this yet. If I’m to judge from the blather I see over the wall from the partisan Democrats in our social circle, half of them will be cheering it on and the other half will pretend it isn’t happening.

The Democratic Party has turned into a collecting pool of the nation’s loosely wired people. Have a gander at this:

“Only those who agree with me have a right to protest.” -Mark Shea, Catholic Pope and Constitutional Scholar.

and the idea that this would disqualify Trump in the future from being elected President is questionable?

Constitution:
https://constitution.congress.gov/constitution/
Article 1, Section 3.

“Judgment in Cases of Impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States: but the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to Law.”

Not banned by the house vote but is banned by the senate judgement.

Perhaps, Don, but after all this if the Senate did rule on impeachment in such a way, do you honestly not think the courts WOULDN’T interpret the law in exactly that way??

After the last month we all know exactly how it would go: whichever interpretation most hurts Trump is the right one.

If Trump is out of office and the House still votes to impeach someone who by definition can’t be impeached and it then goes to the Senate, the question is whether John Roberts participates.

It is of purely academic interest of course since I don’t see how the Senate gets to 67 votes, leaving aside the question of how someone can be impeached when they no longer hold the office.

I have grown cynical enough now to believe that the House would fast track the impeachment and the Senate would be able to find… how many do they need? 16 republicans to speedily vote on it.

I wouldn’t wager $100 on it, but I’d wager you $5. 😉 I questioned just how much they hated Trump until this last month has opened my eyes. Heck it would barely surprise me if the Senate voted for the death penalty on Trump. I think they are that crazy now.

You might get Romney, Sasse, Murkowski, and Collins to agree to it. Or you might not. Even if they despise Trump, it’s a reasonable wager that ordinary Republican politicians are not going to antagonize their base to make silly gestures. Romney might do this out of spite, Sasse might do it because he’s a silly gestures kind of guy, and Murkowski might do it because she’s planning a Specter and won’t be running in Republican primaries anymore. As for Collins, who knows what’s going on in her head (other than she dislikes anything ‘divisive’).

I recall speaking with a Chaldean Christian interpreter in Iraq telling me that the Americans are the only people who he has meet that believe their own nation’s propaganda.

It is shocking how quickly so many of Trump’ Cabinet Officials and Elective Representatives bought into the Democratic propaganda without even bothering to investigate or consider events as anything other than the Democratic propaganda narrative. Like Trump we may soon find that knowing who is a friend, who is an enemy and who can be trusted can be very difficult (especially under stressful times).

A commenter on another conservative blog recommends changing to proton mail as a secure email server. https://protonmail.com/

I noticed that proton mail and the search engine the Swiss Cow it is located in Switzerland, perhaps building a secure communication support source may be best accomplished outside of the US or EU nations. I also wonder if the Ham radio hobby will make a comeback.

Towards the end of the most recent Viva Barnes live stream, Episode 43, They were discussing communications resiliency and Robert Barnes mentioned ham radio. Ham radio operators have been communications first responders during emergency situations where regular communications channels are unavailable.

There is no doubt that they will come after Freedom of Religion. I mean, more than they already have.

The only question in my mind is whether they will once again use the COVID excuse to shut down masses, or whether they will flat out say that they must be stopped for spreading “subversive” information.

Pelosi frothing at the mouth like a rabid dog. Trump had four years to get rid of her…wasted opportunity.

You’re writing from Australia, no? There are four sets of people who can get rid of Nancy Pelosi:

The Democratic caucus in the House of Representatives. Since she’s 80 years old and was implicated in an electoral catastrophe in 2010, it’s quite peculiar that no one has challenged her.
The political establishment in the Bay Area. No one’s ambitious enough and not enough people among them are disaffected enough to organize a primary against her.
The voters of her district. In most constituencies, elections are pro forma and voters quite passive. You might have more competition if we modified the ballot designation and tabulation process (in particular, replacing first-past-the-post with ranked choice voting), but it’s mostly the culture.
Voters at large, who could put the Republicans in charge of the House. (Given the dispositions of her caucus, she’d still be the Democratic floor leader. She’s been the Democratic floor leader for 18 years, majority or minority).

Over the period running from 1985 to 2003, the Democratic floor leader’s position in the House changed hands 4x. The Republican floor leader’s position changed hands 2x during those years and has changed hands 3x since. You look at her record of sponsorships, and you can see she’s not interested in policy. She has almost no employment history outside politics. Nothing about her past or present suggests she has any more intellect than the derided Dan Quayle. (Some of her recent remarks suggest at least mild cognitive decline as well).

“She’s been the Democratic floor leader for 18 years, majority or minority”

Unchallenged for so long and very few brain cells to rub together…that means she is being “protected” by someone or something outside of politics. Mafia comes to mind…

Besides having a frightening public presence (I tend to get my kids to look away when her face pops up on our nightly news), she also comes across as someone who knows she can play the game uninhibited and unchallenged.

And from what I have read she has accumulated an extraordinary amount of personal wealth for someone with such minimal employment history. Only Mafia could afford you that kind of “protection” and personal advancement- all without having to lift a finger…but what do I know.

Mafia comes to mind…

Her father was thought by some to have an association with the Mafia. Her father’s career in electoral politics co-incided with the peak of the Mafia’s institutional vigor. The Sicilianate mob still exists, but they’re not that consequential anymore.

Her husband is a real estate developer. Richard Blum, husband of Dianne Feinstein, is also a real estate developer with an 8-digit net worth. Blum was already quite wealthy before he married Feinstein. I imagine there was some sort of synergy between the political contacts of one side of the marriage and the business acumen of the other that gave these men an advantage others in real estate lacked, but I haven’t a clue what the mechanics of that are. I think even in small towns, people in real estate like to be on congenial terms with politicians. The FIRE sectors are heavily regulated. You’re always enmeshed with the state.

The (retired) actress Jan Smithers shows you how you age. (Someone who had spent less of her youth in the California sunshine might look a tad better). Prudent women stay away from people peddling Botox injections and hair dye.

Yes Property Developers tend to earn their keep in envelopes under the table but I guess her husband wouldn’t have needed to- it’s useful to get a heads up where the lucrative deals are if your wife was a career power broker. (Eg. husbands of career political power brokers who buy cheap land and sit on it till that huge proposed railway gets zoning approval, then sell it to the government for a mint)….“Prudent women stay away from people peddling Botox injections and hair dye.” Agree. My guess is she is peddling more than hair dye and Botox. She looks like she has used the same Plastic Surgeon as Michael Jackson. But the fright factor is more than skin deep. There’s no soul in her eyes.

Anyway, hope her impeachment scheming fails. She is probably doing it to pamper to her new bosses as I would suspect her days would be numbered come January 20? She won’t be the only boss lady in the White House.

The world is going to be a very different place after January 20. Unfortunately, at every level.
