Well, the Republicans hold their convention this week and we will see if they can do better than the fairly lifeless Democrat convention last week. Here is the line-up:
Monday – “A Land of Heroes”
Speakers include Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC), House Republican Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA), Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), former Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, Georgia state Rep. Vernon Jones, Amy Johnson Ford, Donald Trump Jr., Kimberly Guilfoyle, Natalie Harp, Charlie Kirk, Kim Klacik, Mark and Patricia McCloskey, Sean Parnell, Andrew Pollack, and Tanya Weinreis.
Tuesday – “Land of Promise”
Speakers include First Lady Melania Trump, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds, Eric Trump, Tiffany Trump, Florida Lt. Gov. Jeanette Núñez, Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron, former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, Abby Johnson, Jason Joyce, Myron Lizer, Mary Ann Mendoza, Megan Pauley, Cris Peterson, John Peterson, and Nicholas Sandmann.
Wednesday – “Land of Opportunity”
Speakers include Vice President Mike Pence, Second Lady Karen Pence, Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA), South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX), Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY), Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-NY), former Acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell, Kellyanne Conway, Keith Kellogg, Jack Brewer, Sister Dede Byrne, Madison Cawthorn, Scott Dane, Clarence Henderson, Ryan Holets, Michael McHale, Burgess Owens, and Lara Trump.
Thursday – “Land of Greatness”
Speakers include President Donald Trump, Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Ben Carson, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR), House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-NJ), Ivanka Trump, Ja’Ron Smith, Ann Dorn, Debbie Flood, former New York City Mayor Rudy Guiliani, Franklin Graham, Alice Johnson, Wade Mayfield, Carl and Marsha Mueller, and Dana White.
The inclusion of Mark and Patricia McCloskey, the attorney couple who took up arms to defend their house from a BLM mob, Nick Sandmann, the Covington high school kid who the media attempted to crucify last year, and Abby Johnson, the Planned Parenthood abortion clinic director who has become a champion of the pro-life cause, are three interesting choices. I have heard that Trump intends to put in an appearance and say a few words each night, leading to his acceptance speech on Thursday. The national party conventions are now merely infomercials and Trump is enough of a showman to realize he is the main, almost only, draw. The media with their constant sniping this week will aid in bringing dramatic tension to the proceedings. Fawning adoration is fairly boring, as intelligent Democrats are probably realizing as they review the low ratings their snooze fest got last week.
I will take one for the team and have reports each morning on the previous night’s activities if anything newsworthy occurs. With Trump being there, something newsworthy is certain to occur. I assume his constant presence will be a good compare and contrast with the Democrats only wheeling out Biden under carefully staged circumstances. The Democrat convention last week was barren of amusement and news, except for Biden’s successful trained parrot recitation. Hopefully Trump will surpass this very low bar.
Yes, by all means, “Trump will surpass this very low bar.”
And the MSM will do all in their power to throw cold water on the whole thing.
And aid Trump reach his ends. After four years they are still clueless about Trump and his methods. For Trump publicity is never bad. Ignoring him would be toxic for him, and that his trusty servants, and that is what they truly are although they hate him, in the media will never allow.
Mark, Patricia, Nick and Abby…this is why Love will win out in the end.
Understanding.
Compassion.
Forgiveness.
Trust.
The Democrats lack understanding because they have closed their hearts to God…to Life…to Truth.
“Thus understanding and love, that is, the knowledge of and delight in the truth, are, as it were, the two arms of the soul, with which it embraces and comprehends with all the saints the length and breath, the height and depth, that is the eternity, the love, the goodness, and the wisdom of God.” -St. Bernard
“Hopefully Trump will surpass this very low bar.“
Even a Trump tweet at its most ridiculous couldn’t pull that off.
Couldn’t pull off going lower the Dems that is. The Democrat convention was so depressing it could’ve been an infomercial for the Hemlock Society.
“The Democrat convention last week was barren of amusement and news”
Well, if you looked hard enough, they did have a gender-transcendent mermaid queen-king, and I’ll be hornswoggled if I’ve ever seen one of those before. It wasn’t what I’d have pictured but, hey, all it cost me was a few minutes.
