Parties usually receive a bounce from conventions. This was true for the Democrat Convention this year, but the bounce was for Trump:
This wasn’t supposed to happen.
During this week’s Democratic National Convention, which was supposed to launch Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’s ticket into the fall election with good feelings and high poll numbers, President Trump’s approval rating surged.
The Rasmussen Reports daily average for Trump, which is spread over three days, hit 51% this week — and has stayed there.
On the first day of the Democratic National Convention, Trump’s approval rating was 47%.
Go here to read the rest. The Democrats would be wise to keep their entire party this year in the Bunker with Biden. The more the public learns about what the Democrats actually support, the less they like it.
This? This makes me smile.
The Biden Harris experiment has the makings of a extraordinary ending…a Thelma and Louise ending.
Let’s make damn sure the country isn’t in the trunk of their convertible.
Well said, Philip. 😁
Good headline: “As Democrats deliver 4-point poll boost to TRUMP, media spin says convention bounce ‘not the point’”.

Possibly the lack of bounce reflects a lack of surprise: Biden is old hat and Harris is a known (and largely expected). There’s nothing in the platform that hasn’t been there for a year or more. The jazzed are already jazzed, the skeptical and alarmed, etc.
I took a long drive around various parts of MN today. Lots of Trump signs in yards. No Biden signs.
It’s not that there are no democrats. The local candidates are about a 66/33 split of republican to democrat. But even yards that are filled with democrat signs do not have a Biden sign. I even saw a few Hillary signs, but no BIden.
Our formerly GOP town is targetted to be flipped at the State House of Reps level. The Dems are highly organized. Lots of money coming from outside for the Dems. Lots of signs promoting that race. There are several Biden signs as well.

Very depressing
