Sad news. Charlie Daniels has died at age 83. His one and only wife, Hazel Daniels, survives him, along with their son Charlie Daniels, Jr. and three grandchildren. I always enjoyed Daniels’ music, and I also enjoyed that in a business where fakery is an art form, there was not an ounce of artifice about Daniels. He said precisely what he meant and meant precisely what he said. The heavenly chorus is doubtless being livened up right now.

Saw him in concert many years ago at a rural county fair in PA. No extra admission price. I guess he saw it as a way to connect with his fans. Great show. I loved how he said what he meant and had a boatload of common sense and patriotism to back it up. May his soul Rest In Peace.
