July 17, 1918: Murder of the Tsar and his Family

Death by violence is an occupational hazard for leaders of nations.  The Communists a century ago left no doubt as to the squalid murderers they were and are when they also slew his wife and kids, as well as Tsar Nicholas II.  We have become so inured to horror over the past hundred years that it is hard to imagine the shock and outrage that deed aroused.  May their souls rest in peace along with the souls of all butchered in the name of an evil and insane doctrine.

Article III section 3 of our constitution prohibits corruption of blood for treason. Our Constitution was written 130 years before the execution of the Czar’s family, children and all. There is a legend that precious stones were sewn into the girls’ bodices. When the bullets hit and bounced off, the murderers thought that they girls were saints. Their bodies have been identified through DNA.
Czarina Alexandra was Queen Victoria’s grand daughter. Kaiser of Germany was their cousin.
After the execution, Lenin’s men went to him for religious freedom as they had been [promised. Lenin laughed them out of his office calling them :

Difficult to watch. One wonders how anyone of the murderers could live with the soul-numbing guilt and the terrible images of such an evil deed. If they retained even a vestige of humanity, they would likely go mad.

King George of Great Britain could have provided the Czar’s family asylum, but refused.
The Germans, led by the Czar’s cousin Kaiser Willy, sent Lenin to Russia to overthrow the government and take Russia out of the war. Great job.

All the more appalling considering that Queen Victoria was the grandmother of George V of Great Britain, Kaiser Wilhelm and Czarina Alexandra. Her children with Czar Nicholas were Victoria’s great grandchildren.

I’ve always thought that many hoped that Grand Duchess Anastasia’s impostor was the real surviving princess if only to spite the murderous communists.
The Grand Duchess Maria Vladimirovna is the current claimant to the Russian throne recognized by the Russian Orthodox Church.

In the Reign of Terror anyone who was an aristocrat was believed to deserve to be beheaded. The Czar and his family were considered “enemies of the people” and traitors without a trial and without evidence.
In addition, Casimir Pulaski wanted democracy for Poland. Pulaski tried to assassinate King Stanislaus II. He failed, fled to Paris and was pursued. He escaped to help America gain independence. The people yearned to be free men not subjects of a monarchy. Still exile for the “persona non-grata” is preferable to execution, especially the innocent minor children, who had no control over their existence.
Thank God for our Constitution.

The Patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church a day or two ago just announced that it wasn’t the Communists that killed the Czar, but “Foreign Influences”.

The problems of an embedded nationalistic church. God bless the Orthodox.

“The Patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church a day or two ago just announced that it wasn’t the Communists that killed the Czar, but “Foreign Influences”.
Here is a coincidence.
Nolan Peterson writing at the Daily Signal July 18, 2018:
The First Casualty of Russia’s War Against Ukraine: The Truth
“The American CIA bomber planes did this,” the man confidently said.
“This is all America’s fault,” the woman interjected as she loaded more rubble into her wheelbarrow. “The stupid people in the White House are causing problems all over the world.”
Now, admittedly, as a former Air Force pilot, I was more than a little skeptical that America—and our CIA bomber planes, no less—were out carpet-bombing the Donbas. I pressed the man for more information. And, for the record, I pretended I was a French journalist. I could tell my American credentials were not going to get me far in this instance.
“Why do you believe it was the, um, American CIA bomber planes which did this?” I asked through Onyshchenko’s translations. “Could you see them?”
“No, but we could hear them,” the man replied.
“And you know they were American?”
“Yes,” the man answered. “We saw it on the news.”
And there it was.”

One wonders if God let Islam wreck havoc on the Orthodox world for their pride and arrogance.
