I believe this. My sainted mother would cry when the Passion was depicted on television and I have been known to shed a tear or two myself at such times. I saw The Passion of the Christ once and I have not been able to bring myself to view it again, too overwhelming. Love begins and ends with God, and if we cannot feel that love, we are but poor beasts indeed.

“Look mother. I make all things new.” ~ Jesus
That scene, in the Passion of the Christ, brought me to tears. In it Jesus is making his way carrying the Cross and meets his mother.
The exchange is heart breaking. Her love and agony revealed in a glance. His bloodied body and face knows nothing except victory and reinforces that confidence into his Mother’s soul with those words of encouragement.
His conviction is perfect and higher than anyone’s in all of history. His love too is unsurpassed. A close second is His Mother’s love for Him and us, Her children.
Then it hit me.
His words became reflected in my life when I realized how different my life has changed and how much Joy comes from service to neighbors who are weak, tired and vulnerable. How He had made me new.
He is an awesome God!
