Except the mentality is pervasive in the occidental world, worse some places than other. The Belgian courts have banned political parties as consequential as AfD multiple times. Germany and Belgium differ in that there are provisions in law for banning parties which offend the Davos establishment, so it’s a live issue. Other countries use alternative means to harass dissenters.

You run through AfD’s platform, it is largely unremarkable. The notable difference is that (1) they are emphatic that Germany should not comply with EU dictates which compromise German sovereignty, (2) Germany should not be governed as if it were some sort of ‘multi-cultural’ society or a collecting pool of the world’s vagrants, (3) Islam has proven incompatible with German culture, and (4) it is imperative to reduce the intake of foreigners either as settlers or as notionally temporary residents and to vigorously deport illegal aliens, bogus refugee claimants, criminals, and chronic welfare recipients.

The notion that chronic dependents, criminals, and the truculent are preferable to ordinary Joes is now bog standard among a certain sort of bourgeois wherever you are. It’s now infected the police forces in many areas, so you have Henry Nowak’s death.

Of course, the last thing Europe (and the world) needs is Germans who feel like they got a bad deal. Their just grievances have a…history… of become unjust actions.

The German press and establishment (same?) has taken the approach of condemning the AfD and largely ignoring or justifying the conditions that caused its popularity. We heard of something similar from a strange Austrian immigrant in Bavaria about a century ago.
I’m not understanding either one of you. The Germans being turfed out of their own country are getting a bad deal, but the bad deal isn’t being imposed by neighboring states or rival powers. It is imposed by their own establishments. AfD has no discernible designs on any neighboring state nor on the constitutional system in Germany. It wants the foreigners in their midst to go back to where they came from and for any residue to mind their p’s and q’s. Minorities in Germany, Poland, Hungary, and Czechoslovakia were of antique provenance and its exceedingly doubtful you could have with available social data demonstrated they had abnormal levels of criminality or welfare dependency among them. The German minority in Czechoslovakia had (at the end) an obnoxious disposition toward the country’s political order. Not sure there are any other examples of that in Eastern Europe of any consequence.

Volksich sentiment in Weimar Germany was prior to 1929 more common than it was during the Wilhelmine period, but you’re still talking about maybe 12% of the adult population, if that. The parliamentary order began to go under not subsequent to Versailles but to the economic implosion after 1928.
