Burn of the Day

Perhaps President Trump can advise the Pope on allowing the traditional mass.  Trump would have the same level of expertise and responsibility in that area, as the Pope has regarding US policy as to nuclear weapons.

“Perhaps President Trump can advise the Pope on allowing the traditional mass. “

Trump:
“Traditional Latin Mass attendees.. they’re nice people…you know Latin Mass has been around for thousands of years (sic)… why is Leo allowing them to be treated so cruelly… some bishops too – these are mean people… nasty people… you know people tell me there’s never been anything like it…..”

I, for one (as if anyone cares!) welcome the Holy Father’s comments. We cannot turn a blind eye to the weapon industry, which continues to inundate the world with weapons of death and destruction. He should speak out about creating a world of peace and limited weaponry.

Getting off my soapbox now to go eat my oatmeal and yell at kids to get off my lawn.

The Russians stopped allowing inspectors way back in 2020, supposedly out of fear of cooties. Then, in 2023, Putin completely suspended Russia’s participation in the treaty.

Shockingly, the world didn’t end. Neither side has accused the other of violating New START … No new vast arms race has begun. In truth, reigniting a nuclear arms race would be very expensive and time consuming, which we learned a few months ago when President Trump threatened to do just that, only to be given a reality check by the Pentagon.

The bottom line is, the New START Treaty effectively ended years ago and any Henrietta Hen-ish rhetoric claiming imminent catastrophe is nothing more than manipulative fearmongering, and I’m embarrassed the Pope has chosen to allow the Church to take on the role of useful idiot about it in support of the left.

Maybe, as a follower of Christ, it is more important to be ready for the world to end instead of worrying excessively on how to prevent that end. Each of us will one day face the end of this life. Period. Not negotiable.
Rome has not been much for preparing folks to meet their individual or collective end of life for a long time now. That’s why many of us are peeved at the enviropapalism, the seculopapalism, the criminal (YES criminal) accompaniment of those going down into the pit without earnest attempts to dissuade them.
Nuclear war is not the main peril, nor scorching new climates, nor HAL. The main peril for men is what comes next. More to the point, to be saved from what necessarily comes next without Christ.
