The true treasure of our Church is our martyrs, who seal their blood with the blood of Christ.
A Martyr to Remember
- Donald R. McClarey
Donald R. McClarey
Cradle Catholic. Active in the pro-life movement since 1973. Father of three, one in Heaven, and happily married for 43 years. Small town lawyer and amateur historian. Former president of the board of directors of the local crisis pregnancy center for a decade.
A fake sick call. Humm.
It was real. His own last rites were given to him by unseen ministers from The Church Triumphant. The oils were supernaturally mingled in his very own blood. The Eurchrist he clutched was the hand of His Brother Christ as He lifted him up for the journey home.
Fr. Brenner. As we remember you, please remember us and together may we pray for America. That the communists will not advance in this blessed nation, under God.
Once again, thanks to Donald’s post, I am reminded of three things:
(a) When you fear God, then you need fear no man.
(b) You cannot conquer a truly free man; the most you can do is kill him.
(c) A tyrant’s reign ends when he dies, but a martyr’s reign begins when he dies.
Our soft socialists have destroyed more priests than the hard line communists.
They killed priests, our society just destroys them through compromise…
This is the courage, loyalty, and devotion that inspires me to be a better Catholic. I pray that if the day comes when my Faith is tested in any way, that I respond as nobly and remain true to God and my Church.
LQC, good 3rd point.
Bruised Optimist: correct, we have killed millions of our own through abortion; we have dismantled the Lord’s Day through our willfulness to give in and sacrifice for wealth and diversion; we have aborted and contracepted ourselves into nonexistence.
