Equal misery for all. That’s the goal of all the isms that use government to level the people. We are just like the Weimar Republic at this point. Commies to the left of us and fascists to the right. And we’re stuck in the middle.
There hasn’t been an untainted election in Venezuela in 27 years and Maduro and his lickspittles in the security forces took to ignoring adverse results years ago. Uruguay is the only place in South America where the left lawfully holds the presidency and the legislature, and not by much in either case. The right has a good shot in the upcoming presidential elections in Chile. Colombia has a leftist president but a legislature controlled by the opposition. That pattern may repeat itself next year. The legal harassment of the former President of Brazil and his associates looks dismayingly familiar.

The decay in electoral processes in our own country has meant we have the dirtiest elections in the hemisphere nowadays.
No, we’re not like the Weimar Republic.
Wait! Brazil is on the right? Didn’t their left-wing President just throw his right-wing opponent in prison?
And I suspect that Pope Leo does not, in fact I have no idea because Pope Leo has said nothing about it. Pope Francis spoke a lot, and that was too much for people, Pope Leo is very circumspect, and that’s not enough for people. I prefer to pray that the Holy Spirit will guide our Holy Father and not put the worst interpretation on his actions, which I pray, is what people do for me.
CAG-
The colors on the map are reversed from US usage. The leftists are in red.
Oh! Thanks Bruised Optimist!
Wait! Brazil is on the right?
The map uses the traditional blue for conservatives and red for reds.
I don’t get it. How is five out of twelve “half”? French Guiana doesn’t count, but where are Guyana and Surinam?
