Fate has a way of picking unlikely material,
Greasy-haired second lieutenants of French artillery,
And bald-headed, dubious, Roman rake-politicians.
Her stiff hands were busy now with an odd piece of wood,
Stephen Vincent Benet
A New York construction titan who had met with success and failure. A reality TV star. Never far from the scandal sheets due to his multiple marriages and rumored affairs. When Trump announced his Presidential campaign in 2015 I took it as a joke, a way for Trump to gain cheap publicity. In 2016 I watched aghast as he gained the Republican nomination, a sure loser in the Fall, and probably still a closet New York Democrat liberal. I reluctantly supported him in September of 2016 after his pledge to support the pro-life cause. The rest you know. When destiny calls, the odds usually don’t count.
King David committed adultery and conspired to murder a man, and then covered up both deeds. He ended up with more wives and concubines than you can shake a stick at. He wouldn’t discipline Amnon for raping his half-sister Tamara. He had no control over his own household such that narcissist Absalom rebelled and almost stole the Kingdom from him. He took a census contrary to Exodus 30:12, resulting in a pestilence on Israel as divine judgment for disobedience. If there was something to do wrong, David was there doing it. Yet he was called a man after God’s own heart because he always repented, and he never committed idolatry even though he couldn’t keep his pants zipped up.
Behold Donald Trump, a man equal in imperfections (with the exception of the murder part). God Almighty knows we’re all screwed up, and still He can use us anyways. And both the godless Democrats and Pope Leo XIV (like his predecessor Jorge the Heretic) cannot abide that. Well, God doesn’t give a flying frack what they think.
That re-post from Hillbilly cracks me up.
…..and the liberals still hate him.
Favorite Trump moment?
For me it was when he was completely honest during a televised debate with Hillary Clinton.
She thought she pinned him with Tax evasion rhetoric and he smiled and said that She had years to change tax codes but decided not to because she and her friends were benefiting from the same loopholes Trump exercised.
The look on her face was priceless.
Yes. Trump, warts and all, is a defender of the Republic at a time when the Republic was being urinated on. May God protect his term and may the Republic thrive.
Today’s the National day of remembrance for Charlie Kirk.
Good on ya President Trump.
May the fruit from the assassination of Mr. Kirk be a ground swell of young conservatives.
LCQ:
God told King David that he, King David would not build God’s temple because of his sins.
The temple was built by Solomon.
It may be irony, but it is God’s Justice.
Philip”
The Mass was said for Charlie Kirk along with other prayers from Mary De Voe. May he rest in peace.
Thank you too.
I still think Trump was seeking cheap publicity in 2016. But given the job he’s done as president, I’m glad he got it.
Mary De Voe.
I was driving when Relevant Radio broke in with the news about his death. It was not until 12:45.
I prayed the chaplet of Divine Mercy for him right away.
St. John’s Gospel 12:23 speaks of the grain of wheat falling to the ground and dying.
They reported that the shot was taken at 12:23 pm.
Mary… my bad. It’s verse 24, not 23.
I think we’ll be surprised to learn the truth of David someday…
the devil hated David and did his best to destroy that mortal (David).
In 1 Kings 11 we are told what King Solomon’s errors were. In Deuteronomy 17:14-20 we are told what the rules were for the kings of Israel. King Solomon violated them. You can see this in 1 Kings 10. The gold listed in verse 14 was 666 talents of gold. I was told in a Bible study that the description of Solomon was the description of a tyrant. In 1 Kings 11:4 it says “4 For when Solomon was old his wives turned away his heart after other gods; and his heart was not wholly true to the Lord his God, as was the heart of David his father.” Psalm 51 is attributed to David. The note to the choirmaster at the beginning of the psalm references David’s rebuke by Nathan after David’s sin with Bathsheba.
