Every good man, if he wants to be able to look at himself straight in the mirror when he is shaving, is first and foremost a defender of the weak and innocent if the occasion arises. Little boys often show this aspect of the male nature at very early ages. Fear is an enemy to be conquered in this Vale of Tears.

Absolutely! I am proud of my older son in that I see how devoted he is to his girlfriend. He cherishes her. She is no shrinking violet. We have met her many times and this December met her parents, family in Cordoba and Madrid. We, meaning both sets of parents, thought there would be an announcement. It did not happen. The girlfriend has worked as a forester all over the world. She is a Spanish citizen; and very close to her family; in December she took a Spanish federal job in a small city to be close to the 93 y.o. maternal grandmother in a village nearby. Our son has a business wherein he travels to Europe quite often and can work on line in Spain a month at a time.
In my opinion a big problem is that neither of the couple is practicing their Catholic faith.
I keep praying the Memorare.
I do not believe that women should be in active combat for the reason you stated above. The woke administration did not acknowledge that men and women are very different physically. I was a naval officer (WAVE). Married to a navy aviator. We are both retired. Half of my career was active and the other half reserve when the boys were born.
