It is no coincidence that Christ commanded us to focus on Him and on our neighbor. As we care less and less what He commands, we get a tyrannical ME to rule each of us.
The Me will never be satisfied. Whatever the Me consumes, acquires, or wraps about itself, the Me can never be the right shape to fill the God-shaped hole within us.
St Augustine understood. Me cannot fill it. It must be filled by Thee.
