J.D. Vance

In his best selling book Hillbilly Elegy, a celebration and condemnation of his extended family and their vices and virtues, Vance relates that the good and the bad he experienced as he was growing up made him what he is, a man in full.  An unusual man for these deeply mendacious times.  Trump chose wisely.

Memaw saved him and encouraged him. Fiercely loved him. After she died they found 19 loaded hand guns stashed in her house. What a gal. I hope Memaw was looking down from on high as JD addressed the crowd.

If I repeat myself, apologies in advance. It seems to me that the Vance pick has angered all the right people, including especially Conservative, Inc. This tells me it was a great choice. So did this speech.

Addiction is awful. Glad his mother has had a long run away from her addiction. I think we can’t forget that suffering is lifelong – we get moments of reprieve- but it will always be with us in some shape or form. Our suffering unites us with Our Lord.

JD Vance ability to rise above his situation is inspiring. Everyone loves a story of human struggle which triumphs. It helps others to do the same. JD Vance is a breath of fresh air and I suspect he won’t be a “yes” man throughout his Trump partnership – Trump will do very well with him.
