Has he really questioned Francis’ legitimacy? I don’t recall the good Bishop going that far.
I really have a hard time praying for this Pope’s intentions…
The statement that difficulties were found in Bishop Strickland’s governance of the diocese is an outright lie. They found nothing. The only priests he had difficulties with were the Team Francis wannabes. Christopher Lamb is despicable.
If we had any real shepherds, they would be standing up and announcing their solidarity with Bishop Strickland and demanding his return. I predict we will hear crickets.
Bishop Strickland’s next steps will be whatever he discerns to be best for the faithful of the Tyler diocese and the Church. I wish he would be invited to join the SSPX and accept that invitation, as it would allow him to continue teaching and preaching the true Faith. But we shall see. God bless this true Lion of the Faith. And God have mercy on Francis the Destroyer and all his sycophants.
Francis dismisses Bishop Strickland, yet intervenes to have Fr. Rupnik reinstated. That should tell everyone with eyes to see, just what the people at the top in Rome want for the Church to look like.
In our great and justified anger, let us remember how many men who were removed from their posts later were recognized as saints.
May God keep the bishop close to him in the midst of what has every sign of gross injustice.
Also, let Francis remember that there are few things more dangerous than a man with a lot of time on his hands.
Our time is limited upon earth.
Our witness recorded.
Our rewards will be great, especially when we are persecuted for Truth.
Many priests have suffered from false accusations. Many have used it as gift.
The Father recognizes His Son in those agonies.
He is glorified in their sufferings.
Bishop Strickland will use this too as a great gift to God.
Secondary causes.
The God of Providence.
In Jesus, we place all of our Trust.
I see Pope Francis continues his crusade to make me feel utterly stupid for having thrown my family into turmoil in order to enter the Catholic Church.
“I really have a hard time praying for this Pope’s intentions…”
Nothing wrong with praying for someone’s guardian angel.
However right the bishop may have been, he went a bit off the reservation in the manner of his public criticism. While I understand about his concerns, little good was served in starting a public dust up.
According to Bishop Strickland, as reported by JH Westen, who was scheduled to interview His Excellency later today, the bishop was given a list of reasons for his dismissal. Chief among those reasons was his refusal to implement Traditiones Custodes. Bishop Strickland reportedly stands behind his decision, declaring that he cannot in good conscience ‘starve part of his flock’. God bless him for that.
His Excellency Joe Vasquez, Bishop of Austin, Texas has been appointed by Francis to administer the diocese of Tyler until Rome decides on a suitable replacement for Bishop Strickland. Bishop Vasquez is himself friendly to traditional Catholics, so I suspect this appointment is Rome’s way of putting the Bishop of Austin in a position where he must either cave to Francis’ cruel demands to eradicate traditional Catholic practices, or be treated like Bishop Strickland. Rome will be watching, no doubt.

On the contrary.
You’ve given your family the very best there is!
Your choice is for the salvation of many many souls. Need not worry about a Pope.
Your doing great and your a brilliant man!
This too shall pass…but Christ and His Holy Church will never be defeated. Never!
It is clear that Bishop Strickland will not partake in the anti Christ Church that denies The Deposit Of Faith.
Jorge Bergoglio’s apostasy was external and made public and notorious, when as a cardinal, he stated in his book, On Heaven and Earth, in regards to same-sex sexual relationships, and thus same-sex sexual acts, prior to his election as pope, on page 117, denying The Unity Of The Holy Ghost (Filioque), and demonstrating that he does not hold, keep, or teach The Catholic Faith, and was not in communion with Christ and His Church and he continues to act accordingly:
“If there is a union of a private nature, there is neither a third party, nor is society affected. Now, if the union is given the category of marriage, there could be children affected. Every person needs a male father and a female mother that can help shape their identity.”- Jorge Bergoglio, denying The Sanctity of the marital act within The Sacrament of Holy Matrimony, and the fact that God, The Most Holy And Undivided Blessed Trinity, Through The Unity Of The Holy Ghost (Filioque), Is The Author Of Love, Of Life, And Of Marriage, while denying sin done in private is sin.
The election of a man to The Papacy, who was not in communion with Christ and every other previously validly elected Pope, prior to his election, and is thus anti Pope and anti Filioque, is not valid.
The Office Of The MUNUS is “Forever”, as confirmed Through The Unity Of The Holy Ghost (Filioque).
Jorge Bergoglio, unlike every validly elected Pope, rejects The Office Of The MUNUS, and by his opposition to Sacred Tradition, Sacred Scripture, And The Teaching Of The Magisterium, The Deposit Of Faith That Christ Has Entrusted To His One, Holy, Catholic, And Apostolic Church, Through The Unity Of The Holy Ghost (Filioque), has demonstrated that he cannot possibly be a successor of Peter.
“It is clear, therefore, that Sacred Tradition, Sacred Scripture and the teaching authority of the Church in accord with God’s most wise design, are so linked and joined together that one cannot stand without the others, and that all together and each in its own way under the action of the one Holy Spirit contribute effectively to the salvation of souls. (Dei Verbum 10)”
Jorge Bergoglio, prior to his election to The Papacy, rejected Sacred Tradition, Sacred Scripture, and The Teaching Authority Of Christ’s Magisterium, and thus rejected The Deposit Of Faith.
Found problems with his governance? Ok, in the spirit of transparency, list them. Let us all judge if the removal is warranted or based on lies.
Dave G- luckily for us the Catholic Church is the Church of Jesus Christ and not Pope Francis. Otherwise we are all doomed! So rest assured that you are in the company of millions of other Catholics around the world who are anything but stupid. Crazy and courageous, but not stupid. But so too were the first Apostle who left their homes with no plan, to start His Church. And look at how it has withstood all! I can only imagine the turmoil you are currently facing for your decision to enter the Church- place your troubles with God. He is asking you to. He is right beside you even though sometimes you may not feel like He is not. God Bless You.
In the Spirit of Synodality, the good people of that Diocese should simply vote to reinstate him.
You will note that the official statement of Cardinal DiNardo mentioned not one substantive reason for the determination that Bishop Strickland’s “continuation in office was not feasible.” That’s because there aren’t any such reasons. Bishop Strickland’s only mistake was speaking the truth for the good of his flock. Failure to kowtow to a tyrant always carries the penalty of the tyrant’s wrath. That is what we are now witnessing.
This story is far from over.
The problem is: we have a bad pope. We’ve had them before, but not for many years, so that we drifted into a soft “popalatry”, especially as the secular world grew darker after the French and then Russian Revolutions. From the election of Pius VII in 1800, we enjoyed a good run: decent, sometimes saintly men who had the charism of sometimes administration (St. Pius X), sometimes preaching (St. John Paul II), occasionally both (Blessed Pius XII), and some particularly good at reading the spirit of their times (Leo XIII and Benedict XVI). But if you check the popes of the previous two centuries (1600-1800) you will find many weak and venal men, often cynically chosen to be too old to serve and allowing corrupt cardinals to have their way. It’s even worse further back (1400-1600), before the reforms of Trent.
We need to get back to the skepticism of our predecessors. Faithful Catholics of the Middle Ages and Renaissance had no problem reconciling their faith in Christ and His Church with loud criticism of papal politics and general behavior (read Dante on Boniface VIII). Our Lord said His sheep would be able to distinguish true and false shepherds. It’s time to go “Dante” on Francis.
I have nothing positive to say. I hope other renown conservative bishops fight back in solidarity with Strickland. One day God Almighty will depose this Latino strongman right to where he belongs, and that day cannot come soon enough as far as I am concerned because he will never ever repent. He loves the praise of liberal politicians and the friendship of his homosexual allies too much.
Latae Sententiae. Bergoglio has excommunicated himself and continues his excommunication in grand style. After Bergoglio’s death, he will walk the earth searching for entrance into the Beatific Vision but Bergoglio will have not earned heaven. Prayers for Bergoglio’s soul.
Yes, we have a bad Pope. What makes this man distinguishable is that the failure of most other “bad Popes “ had to do with their personal lifestyles or their seeking to obtain more personal political power. Francis holds the distinction of being the first to insist on changes to the deposit of the Faith, ie., approval and blessings of sodomy, including sodominical marriage, among other things. In years to follow, get ready to welcome Father X and his wife, Father Y, into your Parish rectory. Speaking out, as Bishop Strickland tried to do, might actually help provided many other Bishops joined him, provided they exist, which I am beginning to doubt. When the enemy has succeeded in occupying practically all positions of authority in the Church, what to do? Pray, yes, but somehow I feel Jesus expects some thing more from us.
“Houston, we have a bad Pope.”
“Bad Pope! We suspected, but thought it impossible. A Pope that commits heresy is like division by zero… ”
“Yes. However we also know that HE said “On this rock I Will Build My Church.”
So we’re good. A bad Pope at this time must be in the end a Good Thing.”
His flock should vote whether or not to keep him.
Then, we need to have a world wide vote to remove Francis
Even crazier after all these years, Donald.
Mark, good to see you are still a heterodox loon. Something to rely upon in these turbulent times. Enjoy your schadenfreude while you can. It will be brief.
Brief? think your MAGA briefs are getting a bit too tight, old boy.
Come on Mark try harder. We expect our trolls to be clever. We do have our standards.
The current Pontiff has shown an inability to perform his assigned tasks and should be removed.

I will not be part of such an evil “church.” The line has been crossed for me. Blessings to all of you.
Remember a week or so ago, when AC posted remarks from a German bishop who had zero seminarians? He’d been head of the diocese of Essen, with a flock of over 800,000 Catholics, for fourteen years and in all that time had ordained just fourteen priests.
That German bishop, naturally, didn’t see himself as a failure. No, instead he was suggesting that it was high time the Church change Her strictures demanding priests be celibate and male. Oh, and that bishop was an honored and vocal delegate in Francis’ absurd “synod”. Naturally.
Just found out that the good bishop Strickland of Tyler, Texas— home of just 120,000 Catholics in a very Baptist part of the country— has 21 men in seminary in 2022-2023.
The bishop who has a tiny flock but almost two dozen seminarians this year was sacked for no real reason other than he displeased Francis. And a bishop with a flock seven times the size of Bishop Strickland’s cannot attract a single seminarian— and that’s the man Francis honors and entrusts to provide input on how the Church has failed the hierarchy and must be changed.
This pontificate is utter cringe.

Whether Traditionis Custodes is good or bad, plainly it’s a matter of governance practice, not a doctrinal matter. Hardly a justifiable reason for the extraordinary step of sacking a bishop without any due process. And certainly not a canonical crime.
How many bishops got sacked for not implementing Humanae Vitae, which WAS a doctrinal matter?
If he was removed just because he sharply criticised the pope, perhaps St Peter should have removed St Paul as an Apostle when st Paul had the temerity to criticise some of his actions in Antioch?
Just finished a Holy hour and here is what I believe is happening.
Bishop Strickland is praying his heart out for Pope Francis.
This white martyrdom that Bishop Strickland is suffering will end up becoming an important grace for a certain Pope. Father forgive them…for they know not what they do. Nothing will be waisted with Bishop Strickland. He will rise to the occasion and help with his offering. Help in guidance, discernment and conversion.
Let us pray for both of them and our Holy Church.
