I honestly wish that Gospel passage had not been included in the liturgical cycle. It’s probably the single most spiritually hazardous one for a preacher in the modern era.
Once every three years, we get treated to blasphemies and heresies like this in 90% of our parishes, because seminary formation is a joke.
Christ was saying what His Disciples were thinking, He was preparing them for Him telling them that His mission was to the Gentiles also.
