Jason Aldean just released an absolutely epic music video for the song "Try That In a Small Town" that rips into the left-wing riots, soft on crime governance in cities, gun control, and other leftist degradation. pic.twitter.com/dUYzGbnvc6

Language Advisory as to the above video. My village of Dwight, Illinois of 3900 was completely peaceful during the riots of 2020. I haven’t touched a weapon since I last fired an M-16 back in the seventies during my service with the Green Machine. However most of my friends and neighbors have firearms, some multiple firearms. I think the rioters of 2020 had a survival instinct kick in telling them that places like Dwight are filled with people who are peaceful and friendly, but who won’t be buffaloed by anyone. Another factor is that a high percentage of the adult men in the town are veterans. After that experience, most don’t frighten easily.
I understand that certain people with delicate political sensibilities complained to CMT about Aldean’s music video, and CMT stopped broadcasting it.
The left might not ‘try that in a small town’, but unfortunately they have more success trying in a boardroom. CMT did not cover itself in glory by caving and censoring.
True Clinton, but all the fuss made by the woke mob has ensured that the song reaches a far larger audience.
Yes indeed, Don. It’s as though both those leftists and the ‘leadership’ at CMT have never heard of the Streisand Effect.
#1 on iTunes 😀
Glad to hear it, CAG. Btw, Aldean posted his video on YouTube five days ago, and as of this morning it’s had 4.1 million views.

I was shown this response from Mark Shea: “”Try That In Our Town” is an anthem to lynching and MAGA domestic terrorism. The Cult is doing all it can to wind up the charm of terrorist violence against those they hate.”
Found that interesting given the discussion.
Remember when Shea said that he regarded as sinful lying to Nazis to protect Jews? Does he realize he is constantly spewing lies, or is he so far gone that he believes his insane rants? I suspect the latter.
When I [am forced to] read Mark Shea, in my mind I hear it in the voice of Colonel Kurtz.
Don, this was literally Mark’s replies to one of his sycophants in his latest post:
So yeah, he honestly believes that a group which currently has the lowest body count of its competitors is the greatest domestic threat. No really, words from his facebook:
“MAGA and the GOP are the gravest and most traitorous domestic terror threat since the Confederacy.”
“The ‘Both Sides are the Same’ lie exists in order to pretend the cult of MAGA conservatism is not what it, in fact, is: the gravest threat to our democracy since the Civil War.”
Man is a full on true believer.
or is he so far gone that he believes his insane rants?
I was recently reading an account on the local op ed page of a woman who had lost her father the year before. For the last 15 years of his life his memory was intact, but “he was one big bundle of neediness”.
Man is a full on true believer.
Who once said he admired General Lee:

A man of passionate certainty, especially when he says now what is opposite what he said before.
This song is a refreshing departure from the “Let get drunk in my truck and (well you know)” thematic trash that has dominated country music for the last decade and change. It’s even better to see recording artists push back against the leftist BLM/ANTIFA thugocracies many inner cities have become.
“Who once said he admired General Lee”
Was the same for his admiration for Christopher Columbus or Thomas Jefferson. At this point, whatever the Left advocates, he defends. Whatever the Left demands to be hated, he hates. A true believer to be sure. And he’s not alone. I notice quite a few who used to celebrate the past now condemning it without mercy, and defending what would have been unthinkable only a couple decades ago.

They think they will be eaten last.
Awaiting moderation? What’s that about? Did I list the wrong email address?
…do a little annual hunting, but have never owned a weapon, nor ever been a big gun guy, but then the Celebrity Virus came along, and Americans surrendered their inalienable rights en masse, a terrible message to send to the state, which in many places in the U. S. is increasingly under the stranglehold of a Marxist current. …so I now own a couple of pieces, if for no other reason than to have an answer for the first official who knocks on my door to see my vax papers when the next virus arrives. …didn’t ask the local police, as they think I’m supposed to; see the Second Amendment.
