I guess the administrator wanted to give a pat on the back to his staff, but this type of puffery rubs me the wrong way. Usually deeds, and not words, should speak.

Cradle Catholic. Active in the pro-life movement since 1973. Father of three, one in Heaven, and happily married for 43 years. Small town lawyer and amateur historian. Former president of the board of directors of the local crisis pregnancy center for a decade.
The fact that two of the three patients he mentioned didn’t survive increases the “rubbing the wrong way” feeling.
My uncle is 98 today.
Spent his 19th birthday on Anzio Beach (wasn’t there to get a sun tan). Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Combat Infantryman Badge, French Legion of Honour, etc. My Dad was also WW2 combat veteran. Another uncle is a Medal of Honor recipient. Believe me, the words “Rah us” never entered their minds, ever.
An old military maxim: Those who do the most tend to talk about it the least.
JMJ, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your uncle! You must be very proud of your family. I also had an uncle at Anzio beach. My grandparents had their 4 sons in WWII European theater, plus a WAC. daughter-in-law. Wish I knew more about my dad’s wartime service and that of my uncles but they never talked to us much about it, especially the two in the infantry.
