Pass the Popcorn

“Father” isn’t a formal title in the Church.  It traditionally was accorded a priest who was regarded as a holy man by his parishioners.  Protestant ministers were sometimes called Father for the same reason. We recall Father Mapple in Moby Dick. In that sense Frank Pavone will always be Father Frank Pavone to me.

In that sense Frank Pavone will always be Father Frank Pavone to me. Amen. I commend his resilience though.

Nancy Pelosi seriously has a screw loose. Or two. The woman is a walking corpse with Botox. I honestly can’t think of anyone right now who rivals her Godless hollowness.

Although Father Frank can’t use the title of “Father” for himself, as far as I know, there’s no Church law that says OTHER people can’t call him “Father” if they want to.

If we get a real Pope, Fr. Pavone will likely be reinstated. The Holy Orders never go away.

Has anyone seen Ms. Pelosi after the exorcism?

Anglicans, and some of them asked their parishioners to use a different term of address.

“Anglicans, and some of them asked their parishioners to use a different term of address.”

Anglo-Catholics, Orthodox Anglicans and others in the Anglican Continuum use the term Father. They view themselves as a jurisdiction in the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church, and view Rome as one of the ancient jurisdictions like Antioch, Alexandria, Jerusalem, Constantiniople, etc. They are not affiliated with either the Episcopal Church USA or the Anglican Church out of Canterbury. Anglicanism is no longer the monolithic block it once was.

Sindenote: the primate of one of these jurisdictions told me that when Benedict was Pope, he considered the Anglican Ordinariate. But then the heretic became Pope. He and the bishops and priests in his juridictions will never look to Rome again. One of them told me that Rome is currently in a “cold” civil war. That’s the impression they have. They are correct.

The parishes with which I was affiliated were common-and-garden broad church, one with some high church features. All in the Episcopal Church.
