Lunatics

Michael Hayden is a retired four star general of the Air Force, former director of the National Security Agency and former Director of the CIA and he thinks it is fine to joke about executing President Trump.  If we have Civil War II it will be because men like Hayden did their worst, either deliberately or through sheer fecklessness, to bring it about.

What is it with those of the Bush 43 Administration siding with those who wanted to send them up the creek without a raft for supposed war crimes?

I’m trying to think of establishment Republicans in federal politics who haven’t made asses of themselves in the last seven years. Leaving aside current officeholders (who have to be mindful of primary challenges), several come to mind: Robert Dole, Newt Gingrich, and Dan Quayle. All of these men departed public office before George W. Bush hit the town. Is that a coincidence?

Another facet of this disgusting episode. Apologies if it’s been covered here before. Hayden became a CNN commentator during the Trump presidency. He suffered a stroke in 2018 and now is aphasic, which is said to have no effect on intelligence. In 2020, after endorsing Joe the Potato for President, he labeled the Hunter Biden laptop story as “classic Russian disinformation.” Either he was lying or he is really that stupid. My money is on the former.
