I just hope, come November and in 2024, we can collectively say; and now for something completely different.
No magic wands or wishful thinking will rid the government of blue pesty chiggers, but a red wave would help reduce the numbers.

Gretchen Whitmer is a child of the Lansing nomenklatura who has been making a living in politics since she was 27 years old. I’m not sure she has any history in ordinary law practice. ‘Ere landing a berth in law school, she cadged a ‘communications’ degree. She has a (blended) family.
As for Nina Jankowicz, she’s 33 years old and has been on the patronage of educational NGOs for about nine years. In contrast to Whitmer, her family’s fairly down home and without any notable connections. Except for his military service, her father lived in Somerset County, NJ his whole life; he worked as a police officer, was self-employed in the building trades, and was a supervisor at Lowe’s. You can last a long time with multiple myeloma, but he drew the short straw and lasted only two years, dying at age 58 as she was completing her BA. She attended Bryn Mawr College, which, without a doubt, has few students from her sort of background. She married about nine years ago; it’s not clear if she has any children.
