Ah, Mary pierced with sorrow,
Remember, reach and save
The soul that comes to-morrow
Before the God that gave!
Since each was born of woman,
For each at utter need—
True comrade and true foeman—
Madonna, intercede!

Something for the weekend and the feast day of Mary, the Mother of God. O Sanctissima (1792).
That’s the way.
Great post.
Great day!
Beautiful.
BIG SMILES here.
Thank you brother Don.
To all. TAC.
God’s ever loving face shine brightly upon you in the year of Our Lord, 2022.
May the Peace of Christ reign in your heart and those hearts that you love.
Don, Ty TyTy-First taught this by Mother Cabrini, CBD, St Paul’s School 1954 San Antonio-never forgot the words. She is still alive in home in home with nuns in San Antonio-came here, the youngest of 14 from a farm in Ireland when she was a 19 yr old recently-vowed nun. Prays for me and all her students over an over-60 year teaching career – at Mass every day. To me-a living saint. Good memories, many thanks. Guy, Texas
Last October preparing for a Rosary Rally I was looking around for someone who knew “O Sanctissima”. One lone hand went up. She was to lead the singing…in Latin. Everyone would have a copy with English translation also. It was great.
I learned this as a little girl, just when Vatican 2 changes were being introduced, and there were a few Latin hymns still being sung in our little country church. I’d always say it was “O Sanctissimama” much to the delight of my mother and grandmother.
She is my Most Holy Mother, and I still love singing that hymn.
Thank you very much, Don.
Happy and Blessed New Year to you and to all here
