I’m interested to know, with the risk of sounding like, a conspiracy theorist, would anyone know anywhere one could find definitive Catholic information about the Covid vaccine. I’ve heard it called the “Mark of the Beast”. Is it? Has there been any literature put out there by trusted Catholics leaders who can explain this. We are in hard lockdown atm in NSW until Australia gets a higher percentage of population vaccinated. Feels like a hostage situation (which I’m sure US has already experienced). So not really sure what to do- to vaccinate or not? Would rather not but…

It’s matter of personal risk assessment. I chose to get vaccinated because in my estimation my risk is greater if I am not vaccinated. That is dependent on a lot of factors including my age, my family and my work. It’s a personal decision. Here in the US, actually the peoples Republic of Massachusetts, LOL. I know people that are vaccinated and I know people that are not.
Ps. The Vaccination is not the Mark of the beast. But all of this could be carpet bombing for the main event.
Ezabelle, I’m 91 and my wife is 86 with several comorbidities. For her sake I chose to be vaccinated with the Moderna (used HEK395 only in testing) even though I was leery of the novel mode, use of messenger RNA, for this vaccine. Since the vaccination (in June) I have contracted PMR (polymyalgia rheumatica) an auto-immune condition that can be triggered (according to reviewed publications) by vaccinations or viral infections. Had I to do over again, I would not be vaccinated. There are stories out there, apocryphal? of covid infection even when vaccinated. Do these infections exceed the presumed 95% effectiveness? Here’s another factor: if you don’t have comorbidities–age, obesity, diabetes, etc.–then the mortality risk from covid, or its variants is not that great…Somewhat greater than from the flu (about 0.2%, I believe).
Ezabelle, at present, all vaccines available in the U.S. are derived through significant though varying degrees, from aborted babies. They would not exist if someone hadn’t been fully prepared to exploit their wanton killing for purposes of research. The vax providers are profiteering off of these monstrous actions.
We’ve been told that accepting these products is only “remote cooperation” with this evil. I have to wonder whether very many have bothered to learn of the extent of the evil involved. These helpless babies were butchered in a particularly heinous and brutal fashion.
Anyone who accepts these products is bound in good conscience and by Church instruction, to make their strongest protest known to the makers and profiteers involved and to insist on their using moral means only in their future endeavors.
Even absent the data I would be distrustful of the vaccines based on two things:
1.) The ridiculous degree that they are being pushed. We have never seen any other health measure pushed to this degree.
2.) The people who push them consistently lie about them. For example, they were sold as granting sterilizing immunity (i.e. preventing you from getting infected or spreading the infection) yet the latest CDC recommendations about masking and the like are based on them doing no such thing and more and more sources are admitting that they do not grant sterilizing immunity. They were also said to have been more rigorously tested for safety than any other vaccine which would have been impossible just based on the timeframe involved (and the deaths from vaccine related complications keep adding up.) Most tellingly many sources claimed that natural immunity was completely ineffective for COVID-19, and that only vaccines worked, which flies in the face of every other disease as well as every study conducted specifically on COVID-19 immunity.
Now don’t get me wrong. I am not claiming that the vaccines do nothing, or that they are so risky as to be a death sentence. If you have a lot of comorbidities it might be safer to get vaccinated than to not get vaccinated; you will have to parse through the data thoroughly to determine that. But the way that this is getting pushed insanely heavily, and with lies, is easy to see and should give you pause.

The whole affair since Covid began has taken its toll on people. No more so than denying us our freedom and creating this mood of fear. God gave us freedom and puts no conditions on it- He gave it to all of us whole heartedly. The powers that govern us are running it all with decisions on the go. To be frank I have been through Chemo for cancer in my 30’s so catching Covid doesn’t worry me. The vaccine worries me.
