It seemed so long when it was happening.
It seems strange to see it laid out like this, and realize it was less than two hours from the first plan striking to the collapse of the second tower.
It always seemed to me that there was time for evacuation, but really not very much at all. I don’t figure you can go more than two floors a minute in these situations, considering all the people on that stairwell, considering most people didn’t leave right away.
May God have mercy on their souls and grant them perfect contrition in those last moments.
